Kylo will die in the end. That is the reason for the meet up at the end, for her to finish him off.

I would assume that Star Wars represents a Type III civilization on the Kardashev scale, or, at the very least, a highly advanced Type II that is almost a Type III.

I'm still thinking that, by the end, the Jedi and Sith will be no more, and Force users will follow a more "gray" path. Maybe the Kylo's Knights of Renn will be a less evil group of Dark Side users, and Rey will start a new group of Light Side users that is less self-righteous than the Jedi. This what the "Balance of the Force" is ultimately about, the light and dark need each other to exist. Rebels has touched on ideas like this with the Bendu.
So, in the end, the Star Wars "saga" of Episodes I-IX will be like the The Lord of the Rings, where one age transitions to another.

My guess is Rey is actually talking to Luke, who holds his now black glove covered hand out to her in response. I do see that the close-up shot of Kylo appears to take place in the same scene as the one with the outstretched hand, but the bib on Kylo's jacket does not match the clothing worn by the person reaching out.

Rey most likely will face the same cave test Luke did on Dagobah. So that might be where the misdirection comes in.
Say Rey walks into cave, feels dark Force energy, asks for help and Luke-Kylo form appears.
I dunno.

There’s a couple shots in that trailer that look very much like that Degobah cave test. I think this is a very distinct possibility...and one more reason I’m worried we’re not going to get something terribly original. I really hope I’m wrong.

I can see it now.
Finn gets captured and used as bait by Kylo and Snoke.
Rey rushes to save him and gets beaten badly and learns the truth about her family.
Luke and Chewie fly the Falcon in to rescue her.

You honestly can't win with SW fans anymore, because if you give them something different then they bitch they are not enough like the OT. If you give them something that resembles the OT, then they complain it's not original. I would just say to them, "If you want something original, then go watch an original movie and stop following a 40 year old franchise of countless sequels!"

I disagree with this one. Because for that to happen, it would mean that for once Rey wasn't an expert at something.

I actually think Rian Johnson is going give a different type/style SW movie then the previous Saga movies, and that is where the fans will be split. The fact that it's longer then any SW movie, and most of the cast have voiced their surprise/displeasure in the direction he is taking the characters (now that could be misdirection by the Ridley and Hamill but I think they were honest at first until Disney told them to knock it off with those type of comments). I just think it will be ironic when December rolls around and the bitching this time will be, "This just doesn't feel like the other SW movies, and I disagree with the way Johnson took Luke."

So I watched the trailer again, and I am still of the same opinion about it. The trailer didn't really do anything for me. I didn't feel any "wow" moments during it. The trailer for Force Awakens had some great "wow" moments. Seeing Han and Chewy was the big one. This one was sort of blah for me. Don't get me wrong, I am still excited for the new movie and will definitely see it, most likely multiple times, but the trailer didn't increase my excitement for the film.
