My ticket is for 7:00PM on Friday 12/15. I didn't know until late last week that I would be off work on that day or I would have gone for a late Thursday show. But then again, there really weren't any tickets left at this town's state of the art theater at that time. Plan is to stay off the internet starting that Thursday evening and not return until after I have seen the movie.

FYI guys, if you see the “in 8 days…” ad on fb or anywhere online, DO NOT WATCH IT. I made the mistake and the last shot is a massive fucking spoiler. I can’t believe they actually included that, or if it was part of marketing’s plan to release that particular shot today. I would've thought it was part of Rian Johnson's blacklist.

^^^ I read your post 30 seconds too late. Yeah, I was all like “what the hell?”. I wish I could have seen that only during the movie itself.

Our tickets are for 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 16, reserved seats. However, my alter-ego will be at two different theaters on Thursday and Friday, kvetching about how HE'S the real Last Jedi, and passing out postcards for our May Comicon event....

If they let that through, it's probably a mislead and all that happens is
Spoiler:
Rey loses her lightsaber and uses the Force to grab Kylo's.

True. I wasn't even talking about the implications of it. Just seeing it visually I think would've been better first time in the theater. Only saving grace I can think of is, if Rian let that through, there must be something better to come.

I'm totally on board with this. I've managed to restrain myself from watching trailers/clips/tv spots, but I clicked on this one anyway. Mostly footage we've already seen, which is great, but that one shot there at the end...yeah, I would've rather seen that in the context of the movie itself.

After watching the end there, it looks to me like perhaps
Spoiler:
Rey grabs Kylo's saber (or rather he tosses it to her) so she can destroy that machine behind her. At the very end you can see the guards start to react and lunge toward her.

What's the story on BB-8? He gets shot up, then painted black and renamed BB-9E?

I saw an article headline about that potential spoiler and avoided the article. 2 minutes later I saw it scrolling through facebook, it was shared by the official star wars facebook page.

As others said, it doesn't really seem like a big spoiler but it definitely would have been better to see it for the first time live.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII - The Last Jedi (12/15/17, W/D: Rian Johnson)

Leaks from tie-in books are starting to pop up now. I did glimpse over some pages from the Visual Dictionary. Lots of new details about characters, planets and aliens -- but little that actually spoils the plot. It does rule out a popular Snoke theory and confirms a spoiler about Leia that came out during production.

The soundtrack listing is out there as well. Again, nothing major there. Just the chronology of sequences we've already glimpsed in the trailers.

Wow, tough to avoid tapping "spoiler" for all that follows this comment on this page. But I'll trust you all and avoid this trailer or taking a look!

I'm trying to avoid spoilers, but while fast forwarding through a show couldn't avoid part of a commercial. Is the spoiler you're talking about:

Spoiler:
Rey using Kylo's lightsaber?

Yes or no will be fine

Yes. And while I agree that out of context, it doesn't mean anything, as I said above, the visual alone I think would've been exponentially cooler first seen on the big screen.

I guess I don't care enough about the new characters to be upset about any of that.

Now seeing Luke enter the cockpit of the Falcon again after all these years is a different story.

Yeah, that's on all the TV ads now too.

Rian Johnson's filmography is kinda funny.

Brick, The Brothers Bloom, Looper, Star Wars: The Last Jedi

I guess different strokes for different folks then. Because for me, that's pretty much a given since I never thought Luke would spend the whole movie on the island. And I don't think you need to care enough about a character for something to be a spoiler. A spoiler is a spoiler. And this new scene I don't think was ever in anybody's radar.

My daughter is a big fan so I got tickets ($25 tickets!) for Thursday at 6 pm. It includes some specials that I'm not sure if she cares about.

I also got passes for a private screening, from being a partner with a big company, for Monday 12/18 at 5:30 pm.
