My brother noticed a mysterious $6 credit in his Xbox account. He had the theory that North Korea hacked the network and gave everyone the credit to cover the $5.99 rental fee, ensuring Sony wouldn't make any money.

We watched up to the point that Franco was in the tank singing Katy Perry, then the video stopped. After exiting and trying to resume the movie, the buffering icon kept spinning in the middle of the screen and yellow subtitles popped up that we couldn't remove. My brother tried starting the movie from the beginning, but the same problems occurred and he couldn't fast forward while the buffering icon was still displayed. No way I watching the first hour all over again with subtitles and a big spinning circle in the middle of the screen, so I just went home.

I really enjoyed this flick. Funny. I was going to see it in theaters anyway but this was a good flick. A lot of fucked up things that fall into the proper humor for Rogen and Franco. I'll get the BD when it gets cheap. I hope they load that bitch w/ a shit ton now cuz they've got info to mine from for a while.

I liked the movie for the most part. I have absolutely no objection to crude humor, as long as it's funny. They relied on it too much, and the movie would have been funnier with a little less profanity. The premise was great, and the actor who played Un was hilarious.

Oh, and apparently it wasn't North Korea who hacked Sony. (Not sure if this has been posted before - sorry if it's a repost).

You're out of luck, as the Roku doesn't support 5.1 sound for either Youtube or Google PLay.

You could buy a Chromecast for $30 and get a $20 Google Play credit you could use to rent or buy the movie:

It's still 2.0 channel on YouTube, the Google Play version does have 5.1 though.

Google Play is garbage on the Roku for some reason.

Watched it today, and enjoyed it. Basically what you expect from a Rogen comedy; a lot of dumb fun, crude humor, and sex jokes. Kind of funny all the publicity an otherwise typical movie from these guys that probably would have otherwise generated $80 mil or so at the box office.

Thanks, because I had noticed the Google Play version has 5.1 and was about to add the channel to my Roku and rent it; now I'll consider other options.

And, no, those options don't include piracy because I downloaded an HD rip earlier, told my gf we'd watch it later and she told me to delete it because she wanted to pay for it "so they know we watched it". She's cute.

That is adorable. Though I support people purchasing it now as I like the idea of same day digital releases (Frankly, if you're going to have movies like Still Alice and Foxcatcher which have awards potential but minimal box office take, you may as well follow award nominations with digital releases.) Go buy a Chromecast and use the $20 play credit toward it.
