I don't really care about the lack of a crawl. As long as the film is good that's all I care about. I've been avoiding most news about the film but am pretty excited for it.

I wish every movie ever made had the crawl to help me figure out the first 5 minutes. I'm having troubles.

I get that people want the crawl because it's a traditional Star Wars thing to have but honestly they don't really provide anything crucial and basically just give a prologue of what's to come. I'm fine with keeping the crawl to the main Episodes and not doing it for the spinoff films.

Here's the thing, the people making the movie probably don't know that Catalyst even exists. This is like people who think Agents of Shield will have any effect on Marvel movies.

All we need to know we've seen on screen. Death Star plans on Geonosis, Death Star construction at the end of RoTS and Death Star plans in the hands of the Rebellion in ANH. The other stuff can be filled in fairly easily.

"...so he hid the Death Star plans in the one place he knew he could hide something. His ass. Five long years, he had the plans up his ass. Then he died of dysentery, he gave me the plans. I hid the uncomfortable Death Star data tapes up my ass two years. Then, after seven years, I was sent home to my family. And now, little rebel, I give the plans to you."

To add onto that, it's never really canon to damn near everyeon in the audience that it get to. Stuff like that, shows, and prequel comics just don't matter. It's just extra money for the property that fans fuel by being fans. But it never counts. It's just BS fan fiction at the end of the day.

I absolutely agree that it certainly isn't, and never would be, required reading before the movie but I like a good Star Wars novel anyway.

Well, Marvel does the same thing. AoU was the next step after some AoS episode. The info they got that led them that Hydra base was from AoS. It still doesn't matter though. It's just BS narrative that the other format takes to connect but the films don't acknowledge it. It'll be the same thing w/ this or any other thing until the lesser formats narrative matter enough to the big format.
It'll be the same thing. Neat nods that the lesser format takes for a reference and so the fan can enjoy. Just entertaining fan fiction.

I have been on self-embargo with any new stuff. Are people still on the fence about seeing this and want to keep seeing more and more scenes?

That China trailer seemed like it was cut very linear. I think it was pretty much the movie highly condensed. Use caution.

Piss off. It was still missing a lot. All it did was give us the gist of the set up and some minor insight into these characters. Nothing really damning on going blind into this aside from seeing some stuff w/o any context.

Felling good about Donnie Yen's character being a major player in this. Now embargoing myself from seeing any more until opening weekend.

A New Hope's crawl was full of spoilers! 2 of 3 paragraphs giveaway Rogue One!

$16 according to the Disney execs who were trying to temper expectations a few months ago. Maybe $17.25 if the only person who sees it opts for 3-D. [ / sarcasm]
