Her power in the movies is the same as it is in the comics, the ability to absorb someone else's powers when she touches them.

Doesn't she also absorb their life force too? If she touches someone long enough it will kill them. It was mentioned in the first movie that she could even kill Wolverine if she touches him long enough.

There was also that boy in the intro of the first movie. She kissed him, and it was the first time her power actually activated. She nearly killed that boy with the kiss. He wasn't a mutant (or was he?) so she wasn't absorbing his mutant power. She was just absorbing his life force.

That's also why she wears gloves and stuff to keep her exposed skin minimal, since her touch can be fatal.

Anyway, I wouldn't have a problem with her going "all powerful and stuff." I just have a problem with putting her in the Apocalypse movie like someone earlier suggested. Apocalypse is set before she is even born, so it would be a blatant disregard of continuity to put her in the movie. I know they doing exactly that with Angel, since Angel was a kid in X3. I dislike that as well, but at least Angel was only a very minor character in X3. Rogue was a major character in the original trilogy, so I would have more of a problem with disregarding her continuity than I would with disregarding Angel's continuity.

Channing Tatum Closes His 'Gambit' Deal (Exclusive)

Channing Tatum has closed a deal to star in Gambit, 20th Century Fox’s X-Men spin-off movie.

The move, which was widely expected, contradicts reports that appeared last week suggesting the actor would exit the project after failing to come to terms with Fox.

Sources say that Tatum and the studio did hit a sensitive spot in negotiations, but such back-and-forth is a normal part of top-level talent dealmaking. The Magic Mike star's participation hardly was in any real danger because the actor already had invested quite a bit in the superhero part. Tatum has been attached to the movie (loosely then officially) as both actor and producer for a few years and even made a surprise appearance at Fox’s X-Men panel at Comic-Con in July.

One thing that needed figuring out was the extent of Tatum’s involvement in the X-Men universe. Fox sees Tatum’s Gambit, a mutant who harnesses kinetic energy, as one of the anchor characters of the X-universe, akin to Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, someone who would anchor his own movies and appear in numerous others. It’s a commitment that could theoretically last more than a decade. (Jackman has been portraying Wolverine since 2000, for instance.)

Sources say that backend compensation was also a sticking point.

I'd like the third to retcon the second entirely. Just keep the updated uniforms and costumes but prtend Retaliation never happened.

Same here. And it's mainly males just jealous of Channing. Dude is a box office draw and X-Men needs star power.

Lea Seydoux, Rebecca Ferguson and Abbey Lee are said to be on the short list to play Bella Donna Boudreaux in 20th Century Fox’s Gambit Late last month, word broke that negotiations appeared…

No idea who this Bella is, but good that they are bringing in a new character. I hope she is more interesting than Silverfox from XO: W.

EXCLUSIVE: Lea Seydoux has the offer to star alongside Channing Tatum in Fox’s Rupert Wyatt-directed X-Men spinoff Gambit. This was a hotly contested job for the role of Belladonna Boudreaux aka Bella. As Deadline was first to reveal, the studio had a shortlist with Seydoux, Mad Max: Fury Road‘s Abbey Lee and Rebecca Ferguson of Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. They were set to test, and then Ferguson dropped out to take one of the leads in DreamWorks’ adaptation of The Girl On The Train.

Now, the role in Gambit will go to Seydoux, who moved from the racy Cannes sensation Blue Is The Warmest Color to the 007 film Spectre. In X-Men lore, Bella was Gambit’s love since childhood, but eventually she gained powers of her own and became head of the Assassins Guild. Gambit, aka Remy LeBeau, was head of the Thieves Guild. The French actress is repped by WME, United Agents and Agence Adequat.

No Internet. Been working off of WiFi mostly wherever I can get it. I moved apartments and apparently I need the Verizon guy to come to my place for it. The window for that is 8am-5pm today. I'm donating plasma right now so they have WiFi here. Hopefully that Verizon guy doesn't arrive to my place while I'm making some money donating plasma.

Of all the things I would've assumed you'd donate first...

He didn't said he didn't donate something else before he donated plasma...

Maybe it's been a busy day for him. First the sperm bank, then the blood bank (where he posted from), and then to the financial bank, and then back home!

For those of you who don't know, some (if not all) Sperm Banks only want college graduates to donate. Sooo for you people w/ a degree (though how could they even really know, right?)... your sperm is wanted. And they pay good.

So Seydoux has not accepted the role yet?

IMDB still says release date October 7, 2016. Seems like they will have to delay that.

Channing Tatum's 'Gambit' Movie Loses Director

Director Rupert Wyatt has fallen off Gambit, the Channing Tatum X-Men spinoff being made by Fox.

The movie project in an important one for the studio, which is hoping that it launches onto the screen as an important character as Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, one of the lynchpins of the X-Men universe.

“I was very much looking forward to working with my friend Channing and the team at Fox, but regrettably a push in the start date now conflicts with another project," said Wyatt in a statement. "I thank them for the opportunity, and I know that Gambit will make a terrific film.”

Script issues have caused the film's budget to be larger than expected and prompting the exit, a source told The Hollywood Reporter.

Josh Zetumer penned the script for the film, based on a treatment by Gambit co-creator Chris Claremont. Tatum, Reid Carolin, Lauren Shuler Donner and Simon Kinberg are producing.

Wyatt also directed Rise of the Planet of the Apes for Fox.
