Yep. Seems like a lame complaint. Here are a few other forgettable themes that just recycle the same few notes over and over:

I think it's a bit on the cheesy side myself but at least it's identifiable.

It isn't just typical me hating on DC but I really don't care for the Wonder Woman theme either. I agree that it's identifiable but it's corny kind of. Didn't like it from the first time I heard it in Batman V Superman.

And how often was it played during the Wonder Woman movie? Especially during the fight scenes. She needs a new theme. After all, it sounds like they’re ditching Supeman’s. Might as well start over and do it right.

They want to start over it's gonna take more than changing some songs.

Damn straight. Michael Corvin did provide some good examples, but think of those movies without those themes. Jaws wouldn’t be Jaws without it. And really, that theme song is more than a few notes. But the most recognizable part does consist of a few notes. I guess I’m more bummed there are no themes in the DC movies (likewise Marvel, although their stuff is slightly more recognizable), that elevate the movie to another level. I’m fairly certain someone could compose another iconic score or two for a superhero movie. If Wonder Woman didn’t have that theme, the movies impact would remain the same.

Honestly the only Marvel theme I can remember is the one from Iron Man 3. Theme songs are just very generic now days or don't exist. That's why at least with Wonder Woman I can at least identify it I just don't like it. Zimmer's theme for Superman is memorable too. Batman is the only DC character from the DCEU films that doesn't have a distinctive theme.

It’s not my favorite superhero movie but I think Thor has pretty damn good theme music.

IMO, it ranks up with the best superhero themes.

Like twice. I expected more, but they were pretty restrained with it.

As is Wonder Woman's. You are just referencing the electric guitar part. There's some solid drums, strings and vocals as well.

I'm of the frame of mind that John Williams's Superman theme should follow the character in the exact same way the James Bond theme does. It's perfection. And it captures the essence of the Last Son of Krypton better than any of the recent movies have.

To a lesser extent, I feel similar about Elfman's Batman theme. And the Wonder Woman motif is aces.

Marvel doesn't have anything close to these.

To me the Williams theme is great but it feels way too upbeat and light for the version of the character we've seen portrayed by Cavill thus far. Unless they are trying to attempt to change his portrayal going forward. The Elfman Batman theme I definitely think can work, though I'd prefer something more along the lines of the theme that he and Shirley Walker did for Batman: The Animated Series. Batman is more in need of a theme whereas Superman has a decent one in my opinion.

if Bond films have ranged from comedy to thrillers using the same intro music then I'm sure they can apply the same idea to super-hero films

I wouldn't say any Bond film has really intentionally been a comedy. They're all action films in my mind. Some may be more campy but I don't think any were intentionally comedies. I also think that with the Bond films the theme has always been a constant. With Superman there have been various themes throughout different mediums such as the various tv shows and films. The John Williams theme is just the most famous. To me the tone of the film needs to fit the score.

Agreed. You gotta play to your strengths.

Honestly, I can see them using both Superman themes. If they rearrange the scores just enough to fit the tone of the movie and creatively meld the two themes together during various parts of the movie. I could see it working.

I like the ones for Batman and Wonder Woman. Aquaman's is okay. The Flash and Cyborg look as goofy as ever.

New trailer on Sunday? Someone wants to get ahead of the Last Jedi juggernaut supposedly dropping on Monday.
