Max Lord?

Or if the villain is Darkseid, then he could be playing someone like Highfather or Metron.

If I were a betting man, I would place good money on Dafoe's character being G. Gordon Godfrey aka Glorious Godfrey. He's one of Darkseid's lackeys. Go read Legends (the mini-series) if you want to understand the character's likely purpose in this movie.

I thought he was great. The suit wasn't the greatest looking (although I don't hate it like many do) but that wasn't his fault.

Yeah, he hams it up a bit, but the Raimi films were a lot campier than what we're used to today, so it works.

I believe it was confirmed he was playing a Good Guy, but that could have been overzealous reporting. He would be a great G. Gordon Godfrey though.

Martian Manhunter seems to be the solid choice, although someone was saying an older Green Arrow/Oliver Queen in another forum and I think that would be interesting.

I just wish I could generate more enthusiasm about the project right now, and I even mostly liked (but definitely not loved) BvS.

Dafoe is too good for this. He needs to withdraw and give someone like Abel Ferrara a call.

I agree Eddie. Dafoe is a talented fuck and no matter how bad a movie is, he will always be great in it. He was perfect as Norman Osborne in the Spidey flicks, but they should have gone with makeup rather than the horrible suit they used. His face could have really created a creepy and scary Goblin.

That other mask they wanted was pretty bad too. More interesting but just wouldn't work.

Affleck has been promoted to Executive Producer on this, pretty much appears to be WB's way of keeping Snyder in line.

Justice League Part 1: Snyder v Affleck

By the time The Batman comes out, this will be The Affleck Show. And honestly, I don't think anybody would complain about that.

Good. Snyder can't tell a story being bad or good. He just makes pretty shit.. which in BvS... was really drab and ugly at times. Jesus... MoS had some ugly colors in it.

I guess I don't really know how much this means. I mean he'll have more input but then didn't he supposedly also have input on Batman V Superman (even if he wasn't credited as an executive producer)? Wasn't he pushing for script improvements and whatnot? Granted he came on board probably after some things were set in place but still. I like Affleck but I don't know that I'm convinced in him saving the DC Film Universe to be truthful.

I am.

Ben knows what it feels like to go from Oscar winner to cinematic joke. He has worked very hard to improve his image and to become a respected director and actor who takes on good roles. He will work extra hard to ensure Snyder does not fuck up the universe in which he is now playing.

He could only do so much w/ BvS. He added Terrio and it changed a bit w/ him on it. If what we got was what we got. Then... it was probably better for it... I'd hope.

The thing is I think the films he's involved in directly he'll care about but DC still needs someone overseeing their films in general to get things on the right track. I don't know that Affleck will fill that role and be part of every film as executive producer or whatever going forward.

Ben Affleck will be the closest to Kevin Feige in running the course of the DC movies, but that's if he continues to take a bigger part in the other movies in their pipeline. That could be a good thing.

He does care about quality work that he has control on. He may not be Feige fan level of creative but at this point.. if they can just make solid movies... that's a great step forward.

Given Affleck has shown himself to be a damn good filmmaker (and seems to have respect for the characters), it's a great move.

Unfortunately, he's about 2 movies late to do that.

Eh. I've read the whole Martha Scene is one of the things Terio brought to the table. Not really sure that's something we can chalk up to the positive side of the board.
