He makes some sense for Hal Jordan. He's not a huge star and would have to work his schedule around Justice League, instead of the other way around.

I actually think Pine would be a decent choice for Hal Jordan if they choose to go that route. I was sort of thinking with the flopped Ryan Reynolds film that they might go with John Stewart first and then maybe re-introduce Jordan later. I guess though enough time will have passed by the time the Justice League film hits that most people will have forgotten about it (although most probably have already forgotten it).

Replace the GL part with Chris Pine the actor, and that's basically what it's referencing. Pine was crying during the Oscar's during the musical performance of Glory.
