Let's Be Cops (2014, D: Luke Greenfield) S: Jake Johnson, Damon Wayans Jr.
Two struggling pals dress as police officers for a costume party and become neighborhood sensations. But when these newly-minted "heroes" get tangled in a real life web of mobsters and dirty detectives, they must put their fake badges on the line.

Damon Wayans Jr. and Jake Johnson star.

Luke Greenfield co-wrote the script with Nicholas Thomas and directs the summer comedy, which hits theaters August 13. Rob Riggle, Nina Dobrev, James D’Arcy and Andy Garcia also star

Luke Greenfield directed (and uncredited co-wrote) The Girl Next Door which is an under-appreciated classic . . .

. . . but The Animal and Something Borrowed on the other hand are complete pieces of shit.

I was able to see this last night at a mostly empty screening. The movie is funny but isn't that good overall. You will laugh for most of it but the plot is beyond predictable and some jokes are just coarse with no logic. Fun once, don't know if it will hold up.

Poor Luke Greenfield.

I remember seeing The Girl Next Door three times prior to its theatrical release and at each screening, there were maybe about ten people tops.

Saw this yesterday. Wasn't anything memorable but it had some decent laughs throughout. It certainly had some "check your brain at the door" moments but I'd say it's worth the matinee price.

The wife and I saw this today. 2 other people in the theater with us. Movie was nothing special, but had some laughs. The best stuff was some of the reactions Wayans had to Johnson.

We saw this tonight waiting for the ball to drop. We found it quite funny, but yes absolutely ridiculous. These guys would have been busted in the first ten minutes.

I watched this a month ago or so, and enjoyed it far more then I probably should have. Stupid premise and stupid characters, but managed to be pretty fun. I know there are people that hate those that describe movies with "turn off your brain" or whatever, but I think there are some dumb as bricks comedies that fit that mold and manage to entertain.
