"If it had been up to me" indicates something is opinion. "If they had the resources, they would have made Planes" indicates some measure of fact.

I wish we had more opportunities to complain about the Cars franchise. Too bad we have to limit it to here. Anyway...
I'll be curious to see where they take The Incredibles 2. Will it be a big leap forward into the future so the kids are now adults or will they be relatively the same age? I wonder if Violet will feel compelled to reveal her identity to, say, Tony Rydinger. I could see them keeping everyone about the same age, especially Jack Jack. Will be curious to see what they do for Dash's voice since the kid who did it is a man now (he also did the voice of Tim Possible on Kim Possible).
I think so long as Brad Bird stays true to his philosophy of letting the mundane and the super continue to meet up, it's going to be an excellent film.

Don't have time to link but EW.com tweeted that Brad Bird announced this will be his Next movie and has made a lot of progress on the script.

I liked the first Incredibles just fine, but it stands alone just fine as well, and I'm not really interested for more from that world. Outside of money, here's no need for a sequel. I'd rather have Bird to something original.

If there had to be a Pixar sequel, I would pick Incredibles 2 above all the rest.

Of any of the Pixar movies (or really, any movie) this world is most ripe for a sequel. The family team wasn't even formed until the first movie was almost over. I'd love to see a sequel expand on that.

I like the movie just fine, but I honestly couldn't care less about that world being expanded on, especially since it was already a variation on superhero themes. The world wasn't the least bit interesting (the "what"), it was the "how", as in how the movie told it's story and presented it's world and characters, not the world and characters themselves. Again, I think Brad Bird's time would be better served doing something more original.

I'm not sure if it's ripe for a sequel, but the timing is as good as it'll get considering the super hero mania we're currently in. I just hope they don't give in to marketing and have dozens of new superheroes and villains (to collect), at least without glossing over the valid reason the first one gave for there not being super powered vigilantes in the first place.
