And he's shooting 35mm again, which I admit, engenders him a lot of good will from my corner. Whether he'll really use as much practical stuff as he says, I suppose time will tell, but it's certainly a good start.

#1 on my list: Only real actors/stuntmen during lightsaber fights---no CGI figures. If you want flips, get some Hong Kong stuntmen to do them, or leave them out.

The repeated flips in the Prequels were completely unnecessary. Yoda looked ridiculous as he went through the air like a frog.

At age 800, and then could barely walk 25 years later.

FWIW, I had a grandfather who was able to do all sorts of stuff until about 6 months before his death at the age of 87. Point being, when death gets near, it can shut everything down out of the blue.

But 25 years when you're 800 is like six months for an 87 year old.

Thank God for Youtube.

There's some nice SW edits... ROTJ space battle with no ewoks, TPM final duel with no Annie or gungans...

I've read a lot of adventure stories written in the 1910s through the 1930s. The sly Jewish trader in an middle-eastern setting is a stock character. Watto looked an awful like that stock character. Lucas has taken a lot of ideas from pre-war adventure stories and adventure movies, given them a costume change, and put them into his movies. It doesn't seem like a big stretch to me.
