Ted 2 (2015, MacFarlane) S: Wahlberg, Seyfried
I thought there was a thread already, but I can't find it with the search. If you do, just report and I'll merge.
EXCLUSIVE: Amanda Seyfried is going to play the female lead in Ted 2, the Seth MacFarlane-directed sequel with Mark Wahlberg back as the centerpiece in the ongoing saga of a man and his foul-mouthed teddy bear. MacFarlane is still putting together the pieces for the Ted 2 sequel, but it looks like Mila Kunis will only appear in a tiny role, if at all, in the sequel. I’m told this has nothing to do with anything other than a creative decision that MacFarlane decided to take with the plotting of the sequel. He and Kunis remain close, I’m told, and she continues to provide the voice of Meg in MacFarlane’s Family Guy.MacFarlane is nearly done with post-production on his next film, A Million Ways To Die In The West, in which MacFarlane stars with Liam Neeson, Charlize Theron, Seyfried and Ted star Giovanni Ribisi. Scott Stuber produces both films. |
Re: Ted 2 (2015, MacFarlane) S: Wahlberg, Seyfried
The first far exceeded my expectations. If this one stays true, doesn't try too hard to one-up itself, then I'm sure this one will be just as funny. Hopefully.

If they have to replace Kunis I certainly don't mind her being replaced by Seyfried.

I kind of liked the first one, but like a lot of movies with cool ideas, they didn't do a whole lot with it. Mainly just an excuse for amusing pop cultural references.

Well, that's all Family Guy is, so...
Kunis > Seyfried |

Disappointed with the casting change but will watch anyway.

If it's gonna be Amanda Seyfried, then we better get some nudie scenes.
Kunis is much better for the type of role. |
Re: Ted 2 (2015, MacFarlane) S: Wahlberg, Seyfried
I never cared that much for Seyfried, disappointed Kunis won't have a big role.

I'm interested as I enjoyed Ted quite a bit, disappointing that Kunis won't be the lead actress though.

Morgan Freeman is set to join the cast of Universal and MRC’s “Ted 2.” Plot details are being kept under wraps, but sources say Freeman would play an iconic civil rights lawyer who comes into the picture when Ted needs to resolve some legal issues. Seth MacFarlane, who is back writing, directing and voicing the titular vulgar teddy bear, was said to be looking for high-profile actor to join the cast in a fun role and showed interest in Freeman from the start. Currently filming in Boston, “Ted 2″ stars Mark Wahlberg and the the majority of the original supporting cast. Actress Amanda Seyfried has also joined the R-rated comedy, and several pop culture and A-list cameos expected in the sequel. Co-written by Alex Sulkin and Wellesley Wild, “Ted 2″ is produced by Scott Stuber with MRC co-financing the pic. It hits theaters June 26, 2015. The original “Ted,” co-starring Mila Kunis, grossed a whopping $549 million worldwide including $218 million at the domestic box office. Freeman, who is repped by CAA, was most recently seen in Universal’s “Lucy” and can be seen in “Dolphin Tale 2.” |

Pop culture references and A-list cameos in a Seth Macfarlane production? Shocker!

Re: Ted 2 (2015, MacFarlane) S: Wahlberg, Seyfried
Really liked the first one but I think I expected too much so should probably go in with low expectations sometimes that's how you find some of your best movies of the year, for me the best surprise was "Were the Millers"

Re: Ted 2 (2015, MacFarlane) S: Wahlberg, Seyfried
Awesome news! Sequels to comedies are always far better than the originals! (Anchorman 2, Caddyshack 2, Ghostbusters 2). My excitement for this one is through the roof!!!

So am I the only one that likes Seyfried here?

Yes, and you can keep her.

Re: Ted 2 (2015, MacFarlane) S: Wahlberg, Seyfried
I almost liked her in Big Love, but then Hollywood thought she'd make a great lead, then she made In Time and Gone. I just can't support that kind of crap.
But I'm totally in for Ted 2, even with her in it. |

I certainly don't dislike her. Has she ever done any comedy roles?

She was also in A Million Ways to Die in the West, but she didn't have any funny scenes, still not sure if that movie was a comedy. I think MacFarlane is banging Seyfried on the side, or Justin Long, or both of them. |

Mean Girls and one of the CSI shows are also the only times she looked cute. When she started slimming down she ended up looking all bug eyed.
