Re: Have you ever fallen asleep at the movies

I have a tendency of dozing off whenever I get too comfortable, so yes, I have fallen asleep at the movies quite a few times. It is a big part of why I don't go to the theater as often as I used to. Most recent one was Riddick.

Re: Have you ever fallen asleep at the movies

Far too often, I get sleepy and doze for a few seconds. Hate it, but it happens. Haven't missed anything major thankfully.

Re: Have you ever fallen asleep at the movies

Only once, I was working overnights for a while and had decided to go with my friend to see Red and fell asleep for some of it. I like the film just was more tired than I thought I was when I went.

Yup. I dozed off during Fellowship of the Ring. I think parts of Avatar too, but that was a really late night show.

Yes. One of the Pierce Brosnan 007 flicks. My second viewing of The Hobbit, I dozed for maybe 2 minutes. Also, a few different film festival screenings...

At home, all the damn time.

Re: Have you ever fallen asleep at the movies

The only one I can recall that I actually fell asleep to was the 2nd Pirates of the Caribbean movie. I do want to blame that on the lack of sleep (at the time I was working a night shift job).

Re: Have you ever fallen asleep at the movies

Many times, but it was at theaters I worked at which I had gotten into for free, and I re-watched the movies in question when I was more awake. Feel asleep in the projection booth during the last round of shows, and woke up long after they'd all ended one time.

Re: Have you ever fallen asleep at the movies

Twice. Both after staying up too late playing video games.

1) Pocahontas
2) the first two Indy Jones films at a triple feature. This one hurts because I didn't get to see Raiders in the theater as a child... then I slept through it as a teen

Its been awhile. I'm 37 now.

Re: Have you ever fallen asleep at the movies

When I was five, my parents took me to a drive-in double-feature of Star Wars and Empire Strikes Back. I hadn't seen Empire yet so I was really excited, but feel asleep halfway through Star Wars and woke up at the scene where Luke was meeting Yoda. I already had the action figure and seen the story book, and I remember wondering why Yoda was acting like a fucking idiot.

I saw Dragonheart while visiting Germany. I'd been traveling on the trains for the last two days and had gotten maybe less than 8 hours of sleep during that time so I even though my eyes were open and I was looking at the screen, my mind would wander off on these incredibly intricate and bizarre thinking tangents. Every once in awhile I'd snap out them and be like, 'Whoah! What the hell was I just thinking?" It was literally dreaming with my eyes open.

During Oscar season one year, I went to see the Pedro Almodovar movie (forget the title, the one about the woman in the coma) and fell alseep. My eyes half opened at one point during the scene where the miniture man was climbing into her vagina.

Kept falling alseep during Capote. That time I actually left before the movie ended, thinking, screw it, I'll watch it on DVD someday. Still haven't.

I remember sleeping through a lot of Intolerable Cruelty, still the only Coen bros movie I haven't seen all the way through.

Re: Have you ever fallen asleep at the movies

Assuming we are talking about the theater, only twice ...

Home Alone 2 -- the girl I was dating at the time wanted to see it. I was exhausted going in and had no desire to see it.

The second time was actually at the drive-in during LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring. I forget what the first movie was (something the kids wanted to see), but it was a LONG night. My wife didn't want to go so I took the kids. They fell asleep early into LOTR and I made it about 45 minutes to an hour in. Fortunately I woke up while the movie was still on ... I packed up and we left before it ended.

At home is a different story -- I can't fall asleep unless I have something on the TV.

Re: Have you ever fallen asleep at the movies

I came really close during Thor 2. Also, for 97 rerelease of Star Wars. It probably wasn't a great idea to go to a midnight showing of a movie I'd seen a million times.

Re: Have you ever fallen asleep at the movies

When I first started dating my wife I was working early morning hours and then taking her to the movies for late showings. I fell asleep two or three times in a row. The two I remember falling asleep for are The Green Zone and The Wolfman with Benicio Del Toro.

Re: Have you ever fallen asleep at the movies

That cgi one called something Lorax. Fell hard and quick on that one so boring. I made it to like 10 mins then I woke up at the credits.

2nd one was that project x film. Slept like 10 mins in woke a bit afterward and left.

Both of those were films involved a girl I was going out with that took me to them. Same girl. Great sex but she had horrid taste in movies. Left her at the theater watching project x. She was annoying too.

Re: Have you ever fallen asleep at the movies

I've fallen asleep almost everywhere. Except driving so far, thank goodness.

In a theater, I get my wife's elbow in the ribs when I start to snore, so I don't usually miss much. Last time I missed a considerable part of a movie was for one of the Pirates of the Caribbean borefests.

Re: Have you ever fallen asleep at the movies

I nearly clonked out during Skyfall.

Saw Godzilla 2000 at a mall just to kill some time. Definetly remember getting some sleep during that one.

Re: Have you ever fallen asleep at the movies

I passed out drunk the first time I saw Spiderman 3 in the theater.

It was okay though, I went back and saw it a couple of more times sober.

All the time. If I'm not totally into the movie, I may or may not fall asleep.
