We still have Madame Web, Kraven, and Venom 3 coming out next year. Now they can take in a lot of that superhero movie money.

If half the rumors of Deadpool 3 are even remotely true, its going to leave people wanting more with huge anticipation for what comes next. That is what they need.
Not that people seem to be clamoring too much for them these days, but they still have 3 TV shows to release.

But both studios seem to take polar opposite approaches. Marvel pulls a list of projects out of its ass without any kind of plan, then hires directors and writers to develop them. Lucasfilm, on the other hand, seems to hire directors and hopes they can pull projects out of their asses.

This seems like a good time to have delays honestly. People are getting tired of the MCU a bit. Deadpool 3 will probably draw a different audience though and I think will do well.

No mention here of the new Marvel Spotlight brand yet?
Projects under the new "Marvel Spotlight" banner will be stand-alone projects that viewers don't require viewers to have watched previous material to know what is going on. The first project being released under this moniker: Echo . . . which got it's start in Hawkeye . . .

I am Groot, animated or not, shorts or not, is an MCU project. It counts.
Yup, What If had a Captain Carter episode but if you want to break THOSE episodes down like that:
"What If... Captain Carter Were the First Avenger?" (✓)
"What If... T'Challa Became a Star-Lord?" (X)
"What If... the World Lost Its Mightiest Heroes?" (X)
"What If... Doctor Strange Lost His Heart Instead of His Hands?" (X)
"What If... Zombies?!" (X)
"What If... Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark?" (X)
"What If... Thor Were an Only Child?" (X)
"What If... Ultron Won?" (X)
"What If... the Watcher Broke His Oath?" (X)
Soooo, ONE EPISODE is primarily female driven.
And I'm reaching, sir?
As for Loki, I don't think Sylvie had equal screentime compared to the title character and Mobius...not in season 1. Hell, there's an entire planet of MALE Loki's. Wait, they never said the sex of the alligator.
Sylvie may have more screentime in Season 2 but I don't think as much, again, as, say Mobius or even Ouroboros. Either season, regardless, is not enough screen time to give credence to your initial just about every project is "female driven" You wanna lump in Miss Minutes.
In short, as multiple people are pointing out, you're just wrong dude.

We all have seen, that counting isn't your strong suit, but Joker is a DC property musical or not and Aquaman 2 starts at christmas, so it will at least carry over into 2024, so there will be DC movies in 2024.

Ok, now we are going by screentime? How fucking nitpicky. If you are doing that, then I am Groot is what like 30 minutes total? I can easily pull up countless articles that note how MCU is mostly female driven now. Nerdrotic on youtube who has almost a million followers constantly points it out as the MSHEU now.

I think myself and others have shown that the mostly female driven narrative is wrong but, hey, you, "countless articles" and "Nerdotic" (with, gasp, almost A MILLION followers!!!) stick with whatever suits your argument that there's not enough penis in the MCU these days. I'll bow out of this cockfight now and enjoy (or in the case of the Marvels, not enjoy) the flicks no matter what sex is predominately filling the screen.

I guess they may not reference Hawkeye.

That's kinda weird. If I recall, the original Marvel Spotlight comic book from the 1970s was a tryout book with mostly new characters.

As for the MCU, I don't think its issues are that of gender (or race). The problem is the narrative quality. I feel this somewhat lengthy video does a good job explaining the current problem with the MCU (and other movies).

I keep saying it, and the more Marvel movies that come out and are crap and flop at the box office the more it is obviously true...
The early Marvel movies were much smaller in scope. They were more personal, character driven stories. And they all had their own style - their own thing. The Winter Soldier was a poltical action thriller. Ant-Man was a heist movie. The First Avenger was a WWII movie. Thor was a Shakespearian fish out of warter movie.
But in a Post Endgame Marvel world almost every single movie is a big, overblown mess with similar styles. The scripts usually suck, and the movies are just so absurdly over the top that the characters in the movie are almost unimportant. You could change the stories to feature different characters and it wouldn't change the plot much. Tweak some details and they are interchangeable.
It's become product. And the product isn't very good.
Kevin Feige has totally lost the plot. The movies need to be LESS interconnected, not more. They need to stand alone, and they need to be smaller in scope, focusing on the characters more.
Unless they can do that Marvel is going to continue to lose money.

Thank God we'll have no more MCU nonsense until Deadpool 3. I have faith in that project since it seems to be something that Reynolds and company have some power over rather than the suits do.

To be fair to the MCU I think they are still releasing some quality productions. And productions that largely stand on their own and take big risks in terms of content and tone. But unfortunately for them it's mostly been in the Disney+ realm. Wandavision, Loki and Werewolf by Night are all great examples of that IMO.
Unfortunately their movies have suffered from the most inconsistent quality and those are a lot harder failures to hide than a Disney+ show that can just be quickly buried and forgotten.

Not sure if that’s a huge problem as much as it is that a lot of people don’t seem to care about Eternals. Truthfully I’ve almost forgotten about it entirely and never have seen it.

They just use "HUGE" as a pun, given the actual size of the being the MCU is clearly ignoring after its underwhelming introduction to the franchise.
