It's suppose to be an inside joke. It's just me messing with members that follow me on other sites, like I said before. But I admit, that surely backfired. Didn't think anyone would care.

Re: The General Marvel Cinematic Universe Film discussion thread - News, rumors, etc.

For the past three years or so, way too many of these YouTube channels (of the Nerdrotic/Geeks & Gamers type) were definitively reporting that their "sources" had "confirmed" that "Kathleen Kennedy" was "OUT!"

Lately it's "The Snyderverse is back!!"

I've been following Geeks and Gamers for years, but even I know they are bullshitting. They do it on purpose for reactions.

My sources tell me this thread has been derailed.

Incidentally,my sources are horses with ample resources because they took courses within the armed forces before their divorces.

And don't forget Midnight's Edge, insuring us that Star Trek Discovery had been canceled because they lost funding from Netflix international. They'll eventually get it right, though, since I don't think it will run forever.

Doomcock. His name is Doomcock.

A giant metal dildo on a one-man crusade to save Western Civilization from "woke" genre entertainment.

I'm not entirely convinced it's not just some guy making fun of redpillers.

Spoilers and leak mentality is out of hand anyway. Why can't we just wait and enjoy a movie when it gets released? I don't need to know the whole ass plot to a movie a year before release. Yes sometimes I'll seek stuff out to see if it garners my interest, but this stuff is getting crazy.

(Not just marvel, but it's the main culprit)

All correct, but his intel is certainly better than ThunderFist, ButtBurgler69 or RocketPuss.

Agreed. Hell, I'd have appreciated a major spoiler (at least for me) to have been kept out of the Doctor Strange trailer itself! Would have made for a much cooler reveal in theatre but I guess I didn't have to click the trailer to watch it three times and rewind that part to make sure.

It's because the appeal of these movies has almost completely been reduced to seeing what characters show up, what ties/references there are to past movies, and teases for future installments. Oh, and don't forget discussing/arguing about those things on the Internet. The psychological high you get from reading that stuff on some reddit thread can be pretty intoxicating.

I'm not saying the actual movies aren't enjoyable, but when you take away all that other stuff, you're basically left with another two hours of Spider-Man swinging around on his web. We've seen it all before. Many times over.

This all kinda started with Doctor Strange 2. Over at the other forum, which will not be named, kylor had to make a Doctor Strange 2 spoiler thread because he didn't want the mods locking up the main thread due to leaks. I was skeptical about the leaks at first because it was bonkers, until the Doctor Strange 2 trailers pretty much confirmed those leaks.

This all started with Infinity War and the Soul Stone, but I'd say it didn't really be a big thing until Endgame on. I knew about much of the plot and all of the deaths pre-release. My wife actually knew them first, and she doesn't use the internet like I do.

imagine if the internet rumor mill was running pre-Civil War, knowing about the Sony deal and all that.

Oh there were leaks way before that. Like Deadpool 2 for example, I knew what was going to happen because of the leaks. But for me, Doctor Strange 2 is the one where it was becoming a problem because it's a hard movie to not spoil. Like, I kept silent about
Spoiler:
Evil Doctor Strange and Professor X
for several months, and then Marvel reveals them in the trailers. At least they didn't show all those other "secret" characters in any of trailers yet.

Why does marvel even still use test screenings? They have a plan for their plots and the story has to go a specific way.

Or better yet, just use Disney/Marvel employees or something

No, you didn't. You came here and posted some image in the Strange thread.

I don't understand why you're saying "you" kept silent. You are reading this information somewhere else, just like we all can. You aren't the one putting it out there.

Huh? There have been movie leaks on the Internet since roughly the beginning of the Internet. I'm pretty sure the Internet would have just been a passing fad had it not been for porn and Star Wars spoilers propping it up in those early days. I even remember reading a copy of the Attack of the Clones script months before the movie was released.

Because some things don't translate well from paper to screen. For example, I heard a rumor that the actor playing America Chavez isn't all that good and had to reduce her scene in a very specific part of the movie. Also one of the cons of the MCU is that one film can effect the other because of how interconnected they are. For example, America Chavez was suppose to be in No Way Home. That actually would have made way more sense, which explains why Ned just randomly has magic powers.

Yup, I remember the days before the trailer for Phantom Menace dropped.

Oh yeah, I remember that now. But that was like a year or two ago though wasn't it. Also I was talking about being silent in another forum. Here I'm still trying to get use to, so just be patient with for a bit.

Every sorcerer in Doctor Strange just gets them out of nowhere. Benjamin Bratt was just some dude. Doctor Strange himself couldn't do magic until all of a sudden he could. SPECIFICALLY, it's stated that his "logical" view of the world holds him back. Something that Ned does not share.

I have to say this all the time on the Star Wars threads: The Force is not a martial art. It's not about "I practiced raising rocks/using telepathy for a while, so I'm great at it now." It's about belief and faith and spiritual understanding.

Yes, months ago you came here and spoiled that. Sure, we will all be patient while you spoil movies and act like this is your personal Twitter where you post "inside jokes" for "members that follow you". This isn't Twitter. There's a difference between having discussions about things that are borderline in the mainstream of entertainment news (i.e. possible appearance in NWH based on what we already know about the movie) and coming here to post things that maybe are true being posted somewhere in some small section of the internet. I'm not sure what the point is of this faux "insider" angle you continue to play up. This isn't really the crowd who are going to be impressed by it.

I assumed every sorcerer were trained in mystic arts, which is why they can do what they can do. As for "The Force", while I totally get what you are saying, it's inconsistent at times, Especially in the sequel trilogy.

Oops! My apologies then. At that time I think I just assumed they were going to show that in the trailer, which they did, so I didn't consider it a spoiler.
