I'll watch, but not in the theater.
It's from Isaiah 38:8
"Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down."

So the Sun Dial of Ahaz is the MacGuffin.

For me, it's not the face. I'm usually pretty forgiving about that stuff. It's the rest of the shot that looks not real.

It kind of goes full circle back to the first one, where he tells his class (paraphrasing) "archaeology is the search for fact, not truth. If you are interested in truth, then I suggest you visit (Dr. Whoever) down the hall". (again, paraphrasing).

OMG, how could I be so wrong?
I am crestfallen, and publicly humiliated.

What have I become?
I've become everything I have ever hated.

Now, I must live with myself, and the lie that I have been telling myself about archaeology vs philosophy.

(I'm 51, am I old enough to claim this as my first official "senior moment"?)

Makes me fearful that those horrible spoilers that have been making the rounds are true, too.

And something Antonio Banderas said about his role also matches with the rumors I've been hearing.

Goddamn... if everything I've heard turns out to be true, angry moviegoers are going to be setting piles of trash on fire in the theaters.
I am a big fan of the original trilogy. Never saw that last movie and wonít see this one.

What are the dumbest and possibly true spoilers out there?

Are we in the multiverse? I know not that of which you speak.

This I donít understand.
You clearly have no interest in anything after the first three so why even ask about it.
Probably easy enough to do a search for the info outside of this thread if you really need to.

Refuse to show any kind of excitement for this movie. Been burned too many times by these "legacy sequels" over the past few years.

Indy goes back in time but changes things to where the Nazis win and then he decides to go to an island to pout until he dies?

She tracks Indy to the island and reaches out to hand him his whip. Indy takes the whip and tosses it over his shoulder. He then dies or some shit.

He just fades away into nothing.

he never saw that or the head blow up either. In fact, you could argue he didn’t even see the ghastly spirits flying by him or Marion. To him it could have been a strong wind gust.

Neither he nor Marion saw what was happening around them when the Ark was opened. Indy must have heard the noise or something coming from the Ark and came to the conclusion that what was about to happen was not meant for human eyes, and instructed Marion to keep hers shut. They shut their eyes, heard a lot of commotion and screaming, then silence. When they finally opened their eyes, all of the Nazis were gone and the ropes binding them to the pole were gone.

I assume it was a kind of Passover thing, where they angels of death that came from the Ark left them alone because their eyes were shut.

It sucks that they cut the scene in Raiders explaining how Indy knew to keep their eyes closed. I think it was some inscription on the headpiece medallion.

It'll be called the Pendulum of Destiny for the foreign markets, but they want something more relatable for US audiences.

Because modern American audiences know what a dial is ... either a sun dial or a radio/TV dial ...
