"Behold, I will bring again the shadow of the degrees, which is gone down in the sun dial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward. So the sun returned ten degrees, by which degrees it was gone down."
So the Sun Dial of Ahaz is the MacGuffin.

It kind of goes full circle back to the first one, where he tells his class (paraphrasing) "archaeology is the search for fact, not truth. If you are interested in truth, then I suggest you visit (Dr. Whoever) down the hall". (again, paraphrasing).

OMG, how could I be so wrong?
I am crestfallen, and publicly humiliated.
What have I become?
I've become everything I have ever hated.
Now, I must live with myself, and the lie that I have been telling myself about archaeology vs philosophy.
(I'm 51, am I old enough to claim this as my first official "senior moment"?)

The title The Dial of Destiny leaked about a week ago.
Makes me fearful that those horrible spoilers that have been making the rounds are true, too.
And something Antonio Banderas said about his role also matches with the rumors I've been hearing.
Goddamn... if everything I've heard turns out to be true, angry moviegoers are going to be setting piles of trash on fire in the theaters.

What are the dumbest and possibly true spoilers out there?

I try to block Kingdom of the Crystal Skull from my memory. I don’t think they should have made another movie after The Last Crusade, but money talks. The Last Crusade was the movie to end on especially after Temple of Doom which I think is fine, but it’s not Raiders or the Last Crusade. Hopefully this new movie is better than Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

This I don’t understand.
You clearly have no interest in anything after the first three so why even ask about it.
Probably easy enough to do a search for the info outside of this thread if you really need to.

Refuse to show any kind of excitement for this movie. Been burned too many times by these "legacy sequels" over the past few years.

Indy goes back in time but changes things to where the Nazis win and then he decides to go to an island to pout until he dies?

I assume it was a kind of Passover thing, where they angels of death that came from the Ark left them alone because their eyes were shut.

It sucks that they cut the scene in Raiders explaining how Indy knew to keep their eyes closed. I think it was some inscription on the headpiece medallion.

It'll be called the Pendulum of Destiny for the foreign markets, but they want something more relatable for US audiences.
