No she stole Ms. Marvel's power in her debut in an Avengers issue. She had them when she made her X-Men debut.

edit: to bad I can't find the appropriate panel.

Re: X-Men: Apocalypse (D: Singer; May 27th, 2016)

The issue begins with Spider-Woman pulling Ms. Marvel out of San Francisco bay with her mind wiped. The fight between her and Rogue happened before the events of the issue. It was supposed to have happened in the Ms. Marvel series, but the series was cancelled before the issue came out.

Even if that wasn't the case, it's not like there's this long history of Rogue appearances where she didn't have the Ms. Marvel powers. Unless there were some stories written later on that filled in some of the events before this issue. A Rogue mini perhaps? If there were, I never read them.

Then that would be why I couldn't find the panel. I could have sworn it was am in story moment. Funny that the character's most defining moment was never seen on page.

The unused story was eventually published years later in some anthology series. I don't remember which one.

I was just making a joke because the post I quoted called him Christ Claremont.

Is that text from John Byrne? If so, no wonder I I never liked his words all that much. He didn't know when to self-edit or let others edit him properly that's way too much text. Looks cumbersome.

It's Chris Claremont. And yes, he was/is pretty wordy.

Hmm, maybe i'm remembering other stories or issues where she conveniently losses her powers then. I could swear I remember seeing more of her before she absorbs Ms. Marvel's powers, and her personality wasn't so much of the sexy bombshell type as well. I stand corrected!

You think that is too wordy? Try reading some Silver Age comics, especially those written by Stan Lee. They are ten times more wordy than that.

Rogue has some seriously screwed up toes on her left foot in that pic. 1/10. Would NOT bang.

Reminds me of Uma Thurman's foot scene in Kill Bill. So gross I had to look away from the TV.

Re: X-Men: Apocalypse (D: Singer; May 27th, 2016)

Poor quality, but leaked trailer.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/-t3R1vgrv1E" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

It looks like Apocalypse can control the other characters which explains why magneto, angel and storm are working for him. Also might explain why they need Jean Gray in this one.

The costume looks stupid and not physical intimidating at all, but Oscar Issac is a really good actor so I think it will be a decent villain in spite of it.

I think I've changed my mind on this one. The fact that Edgar Wright isn't involved in any capacity means this, at best, will be workmanlike and blandly functional but will never be able to attain the awesome heights it could have otherwise.

Let us not forget... it'll be super gay too cuz of Singer. *does that gay limp wrist motion* (I'll never understand that stereotype actually... the whole lisp and/or limp wrist being part of being gay for some men)

Talking about Singer, aside from not knowing early on that Singer or McKellan were gay... I don't feel like Singer is projecting his homosexuality in his direction. Maybe I just take the thematic elements as I know them and not see the possible homosexuality? It's not like I'm looking for them either.

Re: X-Men: Apocalypse (D: Singer; May 27th, 2016)

It was pretty blatant in the second film, but I never had a problem with it. In fact, I thought that component gave it a little more resonance and...soul.

After Superman Returns and the lawsuit, it was hard to cut him any slack. But I have to admit, I thought he did a fine job with DOFP. I was surprised how well it came out. Credit where credit is due.

Re: X-Men: Apocalypse (D: Singer; May 27th, 2016)

I'll always credit Singer with bringing prestige to comic book movies. Back in the late 90's, I couldn't believe that Fox was taking a chance with "Usual Suspects" Bryan Singer.
