I remember the Pee Wee scandal but was too young to really understand what it was about. The first one I remember actually fully reading and knowing about was Brandon Lee getting shot on The Crow.

I wanted to say that one cuz I was Bruce Lee fan and I knew Brandon Lee was his kid but... that's not really a scandal, is it? If you go for the theory that someone wanted to kill the guy...sure. But...isn't it pretty much just known as major as fuck screw up by the prop guys?
Talking about...how did those guys' careers go after that?

Michael Masse, who was the actor that played Funboy, he's still acting but he's always been a character actor. Proyas didn't make another film until Dark City and that was a classic. The prop master - don't know about him.

I don't know it it's the same as a scandal, but I remember hearing about the guy who sang those Beatle songs my dad always played records of was shot. I also recall a little after that the Pope getting shot. At the time I didn't quite know what the Pope's job was, only that he was important, so I asked my parents who had more power, The Pope or the President of the United States.
I first true celebrity scandal I remember understanding and gossiping and joking about with kids at school was the Pee Wee Herman thing.

Just read the wiki stuff. That was not only completely unprofessional, it was at the least criminal negligence. Leaving the primer and then not checking the gun before loading the blanks is pathetic. Whoever did that should have been arrested and tried. Really unbelievable. That is really basic firearms safety that they violated.

The problem with Polanski is that most of his defenders seem to believe all he is guilty of is consensual sex with an underage girl. Reading about the encounter in his own words in his autobiography Polanski, it should be clear what he did was crime whether the girl was 14 or 43.

Liz and Dick got a lot of mentions in Mad Magazine in the early 70s.
Adults were still talking about Jane Mansfield's head getting cut off a few years after the crash. I didn't learn until much later that it wasn't true.

Many people will defend that he is a very well accomplished artist. And he is. He's solid as a director.
BUT...I don't think many will defend him for what he did. Nor do I think they'd want hinm back unless he was to pay the crime. Which I'd be happy to see. As good as he is... I could live without more films by him.

The earliest scandal I remember is Bruce Lee related, also. The Sharon Tate murders where Jay Sebring--the actual guy who discovered Lee was also murdered along with Sharon and her other guests by the Manson family. Bruce worked with her on "The Wrecking Crew" set choreographing the action scenes.

Hrmmmmmm. I'd like a source to that. Though...your shit factor is pretty damn high up there with information and knowledge of.

If anybody wants to post that story or if I feel like it I'll look it up and post it.
But I'm sure of that as I am sure about living in Chicago.

The first one I remember is Milli Vanilli, but the one I remember the most vividly is Hugh Grant.

Did they state their political affiliation at the same time, or did they just wear little devil horns?
