The actors in that movie look like they came from a Lifetime movie.

Nikki Sixx Says He Doesn't Recall Rape Story In Mötley Crüe's 'The Dirt' Book: 'It's Possibly Greatly Embellished' - Blabbermouth.net

Surprised this isn't getting more traction. I guess I sort of glossed over it as well. It has been many years since I read it.

Nikki Sixx doesn't remember the book he helped write or a rape. Throws Tommy under the whole bus.

I don't remember that story in the book. Has there been any word yet on the length of the movie?

I very much remember that story making headlines.

I’m guessing this will premiere on Lifetime.

I just got signed up for netflix so I can watch the movie on Friday. I do wish it was longer so they don't leave out anything from the book.

I will bet plenty will be left out of the book...especially something listed in this very thread.

I would keep your expectations in check and not expect much from this.

I would bet it will be a pretty tame version of the book...I may eventually watch it. But I am in no hurry. After the release of the disastrous remake of Like a Virgin song I have little or no expectations for this.

Maybe the movie will be more faithful to the book after all.

The only link that works out of those listed is the Esquire one.

I guess the others broke and published before the embargo lifts.

And that does not make it sound promising.

Here's the first single off of the soundtrack featuring Machine Gun Kelly.

Heard this the other day.....big 'meh' from me.

I like Motley Crue, but at the same time, 3/4 of the band are whinny little bitches who think they're rock royalty. Nobody likes touring with them.

Well I let the movie play through twice overnight and I'm watching it right now. I thinks its good I only wish it was longer and a lot of stories were left out. I hope a longer cut with extras comes to bluray.

Don't hold your breath on Netflix original movies released on disc.

Why would you let it play through overnight and not watch it? Trying to pad some Netflix stats?

I think there is a better chance than you might think. The band are producers on the movie and the director is Jeff Tremaine from the Jackass movies. If the fans ask for a release there's a good chance it might happen.

I was half awake and often fall asleep to movies.

A little more to add I'm glad the Ozzy Osbourne stuff made it in the movie, same with Tommy's girlfriend in the first few chapters of the book. The stuff missing I wish was included, I'll use spoiler tags.
Spoiler:
The Hot tub story, Tommy's marriage to Pam Anderson wasn't mentioned, and the 90s era of the band isn't really covered at all.

You say that like he some titan of the film industry.

Why would a longer cut come out? This is Netflix, filmmakers make the films they want to make. They don't have to deal with MPAA restrictions. If he wanted to make a longer movie, he would've.
