SEAL Team 666 - S: The Rock

Yes, The Rock is a busy man in Hollywood.

Dwayne Johnson is now attached to star in MGM's actioner SEAL Team 666, based on the book by Weston Ochse.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the story centers on "an elite group of Navy SEALS who battle demons and assorted threats and discover that there's a greater supernatural force bent on destroying the world." Evan Spiliotopoulos, who penned MGM and Johnson's upcoming Hercules movie, adapted the screenplay.

Johnson will produce the feature alongside Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia, as well as Brendan Deneen and Peter Joseph of Macmillan Films. Currently, the studio has no director in place.

Johnson recently wrapped shooting on Hercules 3D, directed by Brett Ratner. That film is slated for a July 25, 2014 release. The actor has now moved on to filming Fast & Furious 7.

Is he just remaking 'Doom' and not telling anyone?

It wasn't as bad as people say. Yes, it's far too underlit and ignores the "plot" of the game but it's an okay time waster. It's not a movie you'll ever want to see again but wouldn't mind watching if you happened to chance upon it on Starz or whatever channel still airs it. And you know the Rock was in on the joke that
Spoiler:
it was marketed as being his movie when in fact Karl Urban was the lead. It's hilarious when the Rock is being dragged away while yelling "I'm not supposed to die!"
Sadly, chatty sonnuvabitch that he is, the Rock gave away that twist in every damn interview that he gave regarding the movie.

And I still get a kick out of the FPS sequence that RichC2 just posted.

The fps sequence from doom is great and was really a perfect way to pay homage to the game while staying true to the actual plot of the movie. It wasn't a forced gimmick because it shows his transformation after getting injected with that serum.

The movie on the whole was lame but that part wasn't the problem.

Agree with you, it's mildly amusing and there's some good scenes in it.
