Surprised they didn't go for an R-Rated approach:

I dunno. It looks disposably enjoyable. You know, a RedBox rental.
That said, the premise of the comic book this is supposed to be based on showed more promise.

Kevin Grevioux's 'I, Frankenstein' Headed to the Big Screen
From vampires and werewolves to monsters. Director Patrick Tatopoulos, Underworld co-creator Kevin Grevioux, and Death Ray Films are teaming up to bring the comic book I, Frankenstein to the big screen. Published by Darkstorm, the forthcoming comic brings together various classic monsters, including Frankenstein's Monster, the Invisible Man, Dracula and the Hunchback of Notre Dame, in a contemporary film noir setting. The Monster, for example, has evolved, learned how to control his anger and now acts as a private investigator. Dracula, meanwhile, is a kingpin of crime, and the Invisible Man is a secret operative.
Grevioux, who wrote all of the three Underworld films, will write this adaptation. Tatopoulos, a creature designer who made his directing debut with Underworld: Rise of the Lycans, will direct. Robert Sanchez of IESB and Chris Patton will produce via Death Ray, with Ryan Turek (aka Ryan Rotten) of STYD also co-developing. "It's a Raymond Chandler-esque monster mash where the rogues don't pack pistols, they've got claws and fangs," Turek said. And if you're interested in learning more about this, there's a full interview over at STYD with Kevin Grevioux, with some early details on both the comic and the movie.
That art you see at the top is a quick crop from the upcoming cover of I, Frankenstein (see the full version here). There are also a few concept art sketches found over on STYD and SciFi Wire. While this project sounds strangely similar to The Strange Adventures of H.P. Lovecraft adaptation that Ron Howard is working on, it's got some damn good guys behind it and I'll be looking forward to seeing how it develops!

Patrick Tatopolous is also the the guy who did the design for 1998's Godzilla so that doesn't give me a lot of hope.

Never saw the 3rd Underworld I got the idea from the first couple. Kate Beckinsale in latex vampires and werewolves, but more importantly Kate Beckinsale in latex. There are whole sites dedicated to women in latex so I saved my $$$.

The 3rd Underworld was actually not that bad in a catch it on Netflix Watch Instantly just to kill some time kind of way but this just looks like crap.

The third underworld also has the best acting in the series thanks to Michael Sheen and Bill Nighy being the leads of that particular entry. Rhona Mitra is really just playing a supporting role (albeit an important one).

Yeah, Yvonne Strahovski is all face. That belly dancing scene from Chuck was both unintentionally hilarious and depressing.

I literally thought 'this could be the next underworld movie,' then 'From the Producers of Underworld' popped up. I think I'll pass this time. Unless I've been drinking and it's at the Redbox.

I'm still sticking with my plan to eventually RedBox this. Even with Eckhart and Nighy, the movie looks completely disposable.

RT's rating aside, who would actually pay to watch shit like this? Oh wait....people who like that Underworld dreck.

Underworld looks like a competently made movie compared to the trailers I've seen of this.
