Now that remakes are becoming so common, has any actor or actress ever appeared in both the original film as well as the remake, particularly in a main role in both films and not just a small cameo in the remake?

Vera Miles was in the original Psycho and had a bigger role in Psycho II.

Vincent Price did it! "Tower of London" - 1939 and 1962. The first movie was during his early career when he was playing handsome/suave supporting character roles; the second was during his "horror icon" days.

Price also kind of did it twice. He was in 1940's "House of Seven Gables" ... which was also one of the three stories in 1963's "Twice-Told Tales".

In both cases, Price played major (but different) roles.
