Saw this tonight and it's entertaining. Not all the laughs are in the trailer, but there's nothing else to the plot. Which means hopefully this is a return to the 90-minute comedy after years of Apatow Hobbit comedy epics.

The incredibly positive reviews have my fiancee really wanting to see this, so we'll probably catch a matinee.

Been seeing the commercials for this. The three main "gags" they've been showing contain horrible CGI. So is "physical" comedy a thing of the past?

Like I was saying earlier, if Johnny Knoxville can be thrown through a window on a malfunctioning ride in front of a live audience and make it look good in Bad Grandpa, there's no reason to have such a shitty looking airbag stunt behind closed doors.

Why doesn't every slapstick comedy simply hire Johnny Knoxville as stunt coordinator?

A solid 4 out of 5 in my books. It's got heart, it's got farts, it's got body parts (both real and the plastic variety). Rogen and Efron play off each other exceedingly well. And it's great to see Byrne show her wild side (and she's sexy as hell doing it). The airbag scenes were the worst-looking gags in the film, but everything else measures up to (the high) expectations. There were nice bit parts for Hannibal Buress, Jerrod Carmichael and Ike Barinholtz, as well as some great cameos from The Lonely Island, The Workaholics and New Girl's Jake Johnson.

I actually enjoyed it a good amount. Byrne was killing it here. The 2nd party they involve themselves into was pretty funny.

I caught a matinee and thought it was going to be a lot funnier then it actually was, so I was a bit disappointed. The war they had never escalated to a crazy status that I thought it would, and thought there were small plot lines that didn't work very well like Efron and Franco's characters or the other frat brothers. Not that i'm asking for Apatow level of padding, but I thought it could use a little more heart there. A few really funny moments, a lot of goofy moments between Byrne and Rogen that were cute but not exactly laugh out loud funny for me, and some slow moments overall made for a decent matinee but nothing amazing or on the level of something like This Is The End.

I expected more big moments that would make me laugh harder too but I didn't think the film really was a gut-buster or anything. It was entertaining though and I overall liked it. I actually liked Rogen in this (I'm normally not a huge fan of him when he's one of the leads) and Byrne was really good too. Even Zac Efron surprised me and I thought he and Rogen played off each other pretty well. I'd probably give it a 4/5 or so.

Not a big deal really but I LOVED that they let Bryne stay as an Aussie. Man, she was rocking it in this movie. I actually liked her a good amount in Bridesmaids too.
Still have never seen her Aussie stuff.

Looks like good Apatow-comedy movie fare. Will pick it up on DVD/BD later this year.

As is his little part in Liberal Arts. He's kind of going the Channing Tatum route with me. Annoying with all the pretty boy roles, started getting some notice for more serious roles, then really winning me over with a comedy.
Can't forget where he started out though:

The theater I saw it in was packed on Friday at a 10pm showing. Pretty much no seats empty which is rare for my town so I can imagine what larger towns were like. I'm guessing a lot has to do with Zac Efron appealing to younger women and plus Rogen still has a decent amount of appeal for the younger crowd in comedy films like this it seems.
