Good!
Better than see him in trash movies like DeNiro and Pacino have been doing. |

They are just throwing reporters off the scent. They are just about to announce he's going to be in the next Star Wars movie.

I didn't realize he was still alive.
Let him always be remembered for the amazing work he did in Anger Management. Easily the most watchable movie of his career. Cheers to Jack Nicholson!!1! |

I've always wondered what the appeal is for actors to work until their 80s or 90s. If I had the kind of financial security that some of these guys do I'd retire young and relax at my beach house for the rest of my days.

re: Jack Nicholson Retires From Acting Jack At Age 76
The plot thickens:
I was curious why Brian Williams would be talking about this on NBC Nightly News tonight. Probably because his "scoop" came from Maria Shriver. contactmusic.com Arnold Schwarzenegger's estranged wife insists Jack Nicholson has not retired. Maria Shriver, who works as a reporter for NBC and is still waiting for her divorce from the Arnold to be finalised, says the 76-year-old actor, with whom she is close friends, has no plans to step away from his Hollywood career anytime soon amid speculation he has memory issues and can no longer remember his lines. The 57-year-old brunette told E! News that the 'Easy Rider' star is not suffering from any memory-related illness or dementia and has no current plans to retire. Another source close to Jack said he is actively reading scripts at the moment and is looking forward to his next role. It was previously reported that the actor, whose career has spanned five decades and who has appeared in many iconic films including 'The Shining', 'Batman' and 'Chinatown,' had quietly decided to retire. A Hollywood insider said: ''Jack has - without fanfare - retired. ''There is a simple reason behind his decision, it's memory loss. Quite frankly, at 76, Jack has memory issues and can no longer remember the lines being asked of him. His memory isn't what it used to be.'' Jack's illustrious career has included three Oscar wins, two for Best Actor in 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' and 'As Good as It Gets' and a Best Supporting Actor statuette for his turn in the 1983 film 'Terms of Endearment'. |
Re: Jack Nicholson retires from acting at age 76
The Bucket List? WTF movie did you guys see? That film was terrible. Typical Rob Reiner tearjerker crap.
The Departed and About Schmidt were his last two great performances. For most underrated film of his I choose The Passenger. |
Re: Jack Nicholson retires from acting at age 76
His performance in The Departed was far from great, it's a great example of an actor phoning it in and just playing his own exaggerated caricature. He was excellent in About Schmidt though.

re: Jack Nicholson Retires From Acting Jack At Age 76
Even if he hasn't retired, he should. Does anyone really think he has any good roles left in him? All he could do at this point is play some shell of his old self.

re: Jack Nicholson Retires From Acting Jack At Age 76
Cue cards. Problem solved. Brando used them for most of his career. Unless there are more then just memory problems.

Geez let the guy retire with a little dignity.

I have mixed opinions on his Joker I guess. On the one hand he really looked the part and played the part crazy clown prince of crime well, but there were a lot of scenes where it felt like he was just playing himself.

We'll never get to see another Jake Gittes movie!

His memory problems will help him forget the many terrible Lakers games coming this season.

Definitely didn't go out on top if it's true. No better example of going out on top and on your own terms than John Wayne in The Shootist.

He could appear in The Expendables 3 without his handicap being noticed.

Re: Jack Nicholson retires from acting at age 76
this has actually been debunked as a hoax.

Re: Jack Nicholson retires from acting at age 76
What, no one liked him in "As Good As it Gets?"
That's a good one also. |
re: Jack Nicholson Retires From Acting Jack At Age 76
I think I saw this thread in the movie forum but I can't remember.

Thanks, Jack, for the memories.
