Me too, but I'm disappointed that the giveaway item is a poster (where AMC got a shirt)

PenguinJoe gave it 1 star. I wish he'd post in the thread as to why he disliked it so much.

i don't know about him. but the two previously mentioned i have noticed a pattern. they are predecessors of the formely known by me to post similar is ...well, they will remain nameless, i think.

i have actually e-mailed the mods relating to this matter to see if it is appropriate or not. If not, i will take it down...

i honestly can't decide if i want to see this or You're Next first...

i have my ticket all set (free Kick-Ass 2 ticket, shhhhh!), but TWE might get the edge if my friend comes with me though it is later than i would like to see it and YN is a better time, but think TWE will end up winning in the end...

I'm seeing this Saturday morning.

My friend Aaron interviewed Pegg, Frost, and Wright in Austin not too long ago:

Re: The World’s End (Wright, 2013) — The Reviews Thread

Some pretty high praise:

Wright is an even better director now, and the last half-hour of The World’s End is one bravura set piece after another. The action is brilliantly staged and shot, the climax evoking (and equaling) the dizzying nightclub opening of Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. The all-star cast is perfection. As for what it all means … One of the creepier figures (a star cameo) reminded me of Trotsky, so perhaps there’s an anti-*communist component to counter the anti-fascist leanings of Hot Fuzz. It’s anti-totalitarian, any way you slice it. More important, Wright and Pegg figure out a way to let their hero renounce his drink and have it too. Their vision is both antic and judicious. This is by light-years the most entertaining movie of the year. How many apocalyptic sci-fi action extravaganzas leave you feeling as if the world is just beginning?

i've been tracking it now for some weeks and the RT meter is actually going up. now, that is rare.

when i do these Reviews Threads i keep in-tune with these ratings and i admit i am a slave to them as well, but this is tracking better as it is seen and released. very unusual and mostly excellent.

Doesn't RockMJ also give everything 5 stars as well?

Yeah it is. The movie has made about $13.5m in the UK since release, $14.5m total so far.

I'm glad it's getting a pretty good push in the US though I'm not sure how well it'll actually do. Budget was $20m USD.

considering SotD and HF were moderate successes, not making huge money here, but making back their budget and then some, plus, finding its cult followings on home video releases (like my discovery with Shaun). i think this has better word of mouth, a little better reviews and should do the P&A budget no problem imo.

We'll see how that turns out, both Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead wound up with 91% on rt. Fan of Spaced, loved Shaun, didn't care for Fuzz.

that is exactly how i feel about that trilogy. Spaced was fun and the homages were priceless, but somethings didn't work. Shaun is one of my all-time favs and one of my comfort movies. and was very luke warm and mildly disappointed by the Fuzz.

The rating on Rotten Tomatoes is only that high because dan30oly, Arpeggi, and PenguinJoe haven't been able to post their scores there either!
