Blue Caprice (2013) (D: Moors; S: Washington, Adams, Nelson) - DC Sniper
Inspired by true events, BLUE CAPRICE investigates the notorious and horrific Beltway sniper attacks from the point of view of the two perpetrators, whose distorted father-son relationship facilitated their long and bloody journey across America. Marked by captivating performances by Isaiah Washington and Tequan Richmond, lyrical camerawork, and a unique and bold structure, BLUE CAPRICE documents the mechanisms that lead its subjects to embrace physical violence. BLUE CAPRICE paints a riveting portrait of 21st-century America and a haunting depiction of two cold-blooded killers that endures long after the lights come up.

WTF is "lyrical camerawork"? Might as well add "a screenplay so good it it reminiscent of the sound of angels singing."

The reviews have been great so far for it, looks interesting.

Just got back from this tonight. It is indeed lyrical, maybe even in such a way that it seems like the film is going through “indie look” tropes. The script sputters here and there. But all the performances are electrifying, and they redeem the film, even as it provides no answers to any of our questions.

Just finished watching this myself. Was quite interested in what the film was going to present, the lives of these two killers. What I got though was this moody character study of characters I just couldn't care about at all. I couldn't work up any emotion at the acts these two were committing because they themselves had no emotion and the film itself lacked any emotion. It was to put it simply a very boring film. Disappointed. 4/10 from me.

I saw this at Sundance last year. Thought it was engaging on every level. A story about a brainwashed kid and the evil man who did it to him. Thought it was great.

To each his own. Personally I just couldn't get around how the filmmakers made evil to be so darn dull. Even with the killings they showed on screen were lacking any dramatic effect never mind the aftereffects of them. By the time the end came and the film skipped around to news reports of their killing spree in D.C. I just had no interest at all.

Saw it yesterday and thought it was really good. I liked the subtle minimalistic approach to the subject matter.
