I never saw... (Movie Edition)

Re: I never saw... (Movie Edition)
I do notice that in 1930's movies. Like the many silent scenes in Dracula where the only sound is the hiss of the empty audio track. This is still the infancy of sound films. Obviously films made later on would have a sound designer create the room tone of the lair (low wind, some dripping stalactites ect). Even in dialogue scenes you'll hear this hiss during the moments inbetween when the actors say their lines. These were some of the firsts movies I ever remember seeing, so it never really bothered me too much cause I didn't know different.

Top Gun
I'm thinking to finally watch this flick in a double feature when Maverick (which I also haven't seen) comes to 4k bluray.

Top Gun: Maverick.
Preemptively. I didn't like the original Top Gun (which might have been my first VHS rental back in the day) and only saw it once. I have no desire to ever watch the sequel.

Yeah, 80s kid here and there are quite a few I never saw (some because of age reasons) at the time, and just never took the time to go back and watch them:
Sixteen Candles
Weird Science
Wargames
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Pretty in Pink
Plains, Trains and Automobiles
Real Genius
Caddyshack
Porky's
Meatballs
The Lost Boys
Fletch
Coming to America
Inner Space
Heathers
Time Bandits
Spinal Tap
UHF
I had Covid and isolated back in January and watched a couple for the first time that would have made this list:
Say Anything - it was...fine. I can see why it was a thing, but watching it today, I dunno, I can't put my finger on it. It just didn't impress me all that much, despite how revered it is.
Trading Places - pretty damn funny
