Let's talk about Movie Studio intros.

First off I want to ask if they still use the New Line thing with the film strips falling into place with that cool music. I know The Hobbit didn't, but is it still in place for other New Line properties?

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/V_usZfGscoc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Here's Orion:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ktoP3aCSiR0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And Weird Al's commentary on that:

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/7GKEHMGGLM0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

I still prefer Universal's late 80's early 90's one to the "new" 1997 one as well. Also a lot of these production company names and intros suck ass these days.

The Walt Disney Animation Studios intro made me tear up the first time I saw it:

I really like this Studio Canal intro:

The Universal intro for Scott Pilgrim cracked me up:

I still like the 20th-Century-Fox intro theme the best, with the swirling movie lights.

The one from "Scott Pilgrim" is funny, like an old Nintendo game.

I like Universal's new intro. It's just a tweak on their standard logo but the new angle gives it such an epic scope to it!

I saw that Family Guy clip numerous times when it came out, cracked me up. That was spot on.

I agree about Twentieth Century Fox, but I do like the painted one rather than the CG swinging around the logo.

Re: Let's talk about Movie Studio intros.

Count me in for not liking Disney's new logo. WAY too detailed. Too much shit going on. It seems to be saying, "Behold! This is the realm from which all our great stories spring." But it looks fucking awful and nothing like the visual brilliance of Snow White, Bambi, or 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

The old white letter on blue field was clean and beautiful.

Re: Let's talk about Movie Studio intros.

Plus I really don't like how they use that to replace older logos, or when any other studio does that for that matter. I'd rather they keep logos that played with the movie itself. Remember Toy Story had the CG castle, back when that was new? That's gone from the new BD release. Especially don't like when the

Re: Let's talk about Movie Studio intros.

Yes. The swoop around the castle with the fireworks and a train going by is way too busy.

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/kbf76dzScfg" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

However, I kinda like when they match the logo up to the feature.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/rKK2YbfeKUc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Tron Legacy:
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/QBN-Iolxa1o" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

But this one will always be the best. It's a classic!

Here's a badass one I saw yesterday. It was more intense with the music from the movie (As Tears Go By):

A lot of indie's and foreign movies are actually like that, where they have and use 4 or 5 different opening logo sequences

Re: Let's talk about Movie Studio intros.

I've been racking my brain trying to remember a relatively recent logo I've seen a few times that I liked quite a bit. It looks like a shitty video cassette intro with snow and interference that revels the company logo that then becomes crisp.

It's really bugging me.

I'm also a big fan of the films score playing over the studio intro:

Spider-Man 2.1:

One of the best...
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/6l_jBJ3yEMM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

And another great intro...

Re: Let's talk about Movie Studio intros.

I absolutely love Disney's new logo intro. Gives me goosebumps everytime. Especially with "When you wish upon a star" playing with it.

But yes they really should keep whatever logo the movie originally released with. Didn't know that about toy story.
