Hopefully in terms of box-office, but not filmwise, because Real Steel is a piece of shit film. I hate that fucking movie.

Man of Steel.

Us movie nerds love Del Toro. And we all encourage his style of unique filmmaking. But Pacific Rim is still a risky movie. Man of Steel is a stamped and certified guaranteed commercial success.

MOS - 500 minimum (evenly split)
Pac Rim - 350 at best (100 domestic, 250 foreign)

Between these 2 movies, Man of Steel easily. Ony DVDTalk nerds have a hard on for Monsters, Robots and Del Toro. Rest of the world's pretty indifferent I think. But that S shield is one of the most recognizable symbols in the known universe.

Man of Steel will beat PR. No doubt about that. I'm still iffy on seeing in how big PR will be. But I think it has a chance to surprise but realistically a new property like PR won't beat Superman. Superman is too big in comparison. And if it is actually a good movie too? Shit. Supes will rape what he can after what SR did to the property.

Man of Steel easily. Minimum $750 million ww. Del Toro has yet to direct a blockbuster hit and it won't be happening this year either.
