notable omissions for me are

The Great Escape
Manhattan
The Thin Man (although I would take Libeled Lady just as well)
Invasion Of The Body Snatchers
Accidental Tourist (talk about underrated)
All That Jazz (maybe not he strongest title, but certainly worthy of being somewhere in a list of 100 films considering what else is sitting in there)

Also- Jaws should be a lot higher, ET a lot lower. The only positive changes I see are the inclusion of Blade Runner (though I would rather see Alien in there) along with The General.

I'm not arguing the merits of the film, I just find it weird that largely the same body of people that thought it was the 39th best film in 1997 thought it was at best 101st in 2007.

Altman's Nashville should be much higher (glad that it finally got in though; I remember seeing it got in in 2007 and giving a little cheer). It's a much better film than MASH. The Player is better too.

This is American films, right? I would say The Sweet Hereafter but I think it's Canadian.

This is true, I was never a fan of MASH. Now The Long Goodbye, Three Women & Short Cuts is a different story.

There is, sort of, a Canadian equivalent to the AFI list, but it is only a top ten. It is re-compiled once per decade and was list done in 2004:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Top_10_...ms_of_All_Time

The Sweet Hereafter is #4.

I am ashamed to say that I have only seen 2 on the list, the other being Dead Ringers. However, Jesus of Montreal and The Barbarian Invasions have both been on my mental to-watch list for years.

Interesting. And those are the only two I've seen as well.
