I am hearing that they didn't want to pay for the rights to any other monsters besides the G-man himself.
I does in some trailer shots. I guess some fans have quipped that it's "Fauxdan" as a result.
Have you seen their full design? Flying Muto doesn't look like Rodan.

Rumor is - and I'm not spoilering this, since I don't really think it's a spoiler - that Godzilla actually appears on screen very little in the movie until late in the film. They apparently took the JAWS and ALIEN approach to the monster. I kind of like that approach, but in today's world where moviegoers demand more, who knows if that will work?

I'm fine with him not being fully revealed until 45-60 minutes in. It gives us a chance to focus on the excellent cast while we wait for monster carnage. If the 123 minute runtime is true, then the film will be about 115 minutes minus a lengthy credit list. 50-60 minutes of monster fighting is plenty.

Yeah. I think the film may hold off on splashing him across the whole thing but once he's out... The fucker is there prominently. Otherwise... It's not a G film. He's not Jaws. He's G.

Well that's sort of how the Japanese Godzilla films went. G hardly shows up in the 1st half of the movie. Just people talking mainly.

I've read that, aside from one brief appearance, he doesn't really show up until around 45-60 min. into the 123 min. movie. After that, there are money shots galore that marketing, so far, has resisted showing. I'm willing to bet by the time credits are rolling people will be satisfied.

Edwards has said there isn't, and early screenings have confirmed that.
You could have practically watched the entire '33 film before seeing Kong once in the new one.

Glad the people in the yellow car didn't get eaten alive.
Too bad about the red car driver...
But, oh well! Buy this car!

The entire soundtrack is up on Spotify.
I'm on my second listen and it's good, not great. Some nice use of Japanese instrumentation, lots of minor tonalities, but it also feels like a very traditional blockbuster action score. Some nice subtle moments in there, though. There's no comparison to the classic scores this series has seen, however, and Desplat's work is only better than most of the Millennium Series scores.
