Shatner and Chicago got more air time than any of the nominated films. The show was awful.

I'd really like to see Patman's review.

Shatner was also better than any of the films nominated.

The 2nd best James Bond theme song that was performed live in the show won the Oscar.

(Not a criticism, per se, just an observation)

I thought he was fine as the host, but if you're going to hire a guy like him, let him burn the building down. He was far too safe.

The show itself was hit and miss, as always.

Barbara Streisand hit a lot of flat notes though, but is was great seeing Shirley Bassey, even though she too has lost a lot of her voice.

I didn't watch it, as I stopped watching Hollywood award shows years ago. However, after hearing how long it went on, it ought to be rated an F. There is absolutely no reason the Oscars should be any longer than 2 hours, at best. The Golden Globes, despite it's past scandals, is a far better run show than this monstrosity, which takes itself far, far too seriously.
