I think FOX was hoping for more like a $40 million opening...although they'll still get to put "the #1 movie in America" tagline in upcoming ads. Hard to believe FOX nixed the idea of a John McClane/Jack Bauer team-up, but greenlit this one, isn't it?

SLP once again enjoys the slightest drop of the weekend.
$25m for DH5 (long weekend or not) is peanuts next to what it might have done with a better script and word of mouth.

I'm sure international audiences will eat up DH5 thus giving the green light to DH6.
I'd rather take a DH6 directed by Wiseman than Moore.
I'm just genuinely shocked that Identity Thief will make over $100M when I've heard not a single, positive thing about it.

I can't believe that shitty looking Identity Thief will make 100 million. I guess Jason Bateman uses the law of averages in choosing his terrible buddy comedy scripts. Lets see now it will be him and Kevin James, him and Owen Wilson, him and Kevin Hart.

It just goes to show you people will go see anything if something is slammed in your face 20 times a day and you get people that think anything is funny based off of a TV spot.
