So, a story of the Nativity based on a play written by Langston Hughes with performances by Angela Bassett, Jennifer Hudson and music by Nas(!) and Raphael Saadiq(!!).
This is by the director of Talk to Me, so it could be good.
No release date yet, but I am guessing it will be this Christmas.

I was really disappointed in Talk to Me after her previous movies Eve`s Bayou and Caveman`s Valentine. Something about the tone of Talk To Me was really off, it seemed like a TV movie (back from the days when TV movies were inferior to theatrical films).
Still, the subject matter is interesting to me, so I`m sure I`ll catch this when it comes out.

I've enjoyed Lemmons's films so far so even though I'm not a fan of holiday films, I'll see this

Who's the Gibson listed in the header? Mel? Would this be a crossover from his PASSION OF CHRIST film?

Yeah. When you put Gibson in a thread title, there is only one big known one in modern film. And that's Mel Gibson.
