Netflix has always had a problem with older foreign movies, especially ones that go out of print. "Older" being not released in the last year.

Rent it from Netflix and really enjoyed it. Fine performance from Jackman and Gyllenhaal. Music was creepy.

Saw it over the weekend and really liked it. Denis Villeneuve is on a tear : Incendies, Prisoners and Enemies. I have not seen his first 2 films Maelstrom & Polytechnique but I hear they're also good and only available in Canada.

Got this from Redbox, was pretty impressed. There're a few plot contrivances and there've been some arguments made about it being exploitative and having a shaky third act, but the performances are universally good, the storyline is mostly gripping, and Roger Deakins deserves special praise for the bleak beauty of his digital cinematography. Really visually stunning.

Finally saw this. Good, entertaining time waster but falls far short of greatness. It does feel like plot points were cut, leading to a confused narrative.
Maybe I'm the only one but I can't take bubble boy seriously in anything he does. And the nervous twitch blinking eye gimmick got seriously annoying.
I've criticized Roger Deakins' digital cinematography before, I didn't think Skyfall looked very good but I have to admit this movie looked fantastic. He really made those boring middle class neighborhoods look very distinctive. Digital has come a long way even in the last few years and, even more importantly, I think cinematographers are learning how to use it in more subtle ways. I.e. look more like film and natural looking color.

this was a great movie. I skipped this and saw it was on Hulu.
There are some dramas that feel real and unpretentious. You just watch engrossed and take everything so seriously. Another was Shot Caller. Love getting lost in a movie like this.
My opinion doesn’t really matter. Mostly just bumping this because everyone on here should watch it if they haven’t.

Every film by Villeneuve deserves to be seen… including his early ones before this.

I haven’t seen this since my initial viewing in 2014 but it’s since made it’s way as my favorite movie of 2013. Brilliant from start to finish. This is the movie that made me a fan of Villeneuve.

Did Gyllenhaal have a nervous twitch with his eyes in this or does he have that affliction permanently? I don’t remember seeing his eyes in other films, but now that I noticed it, it’s all I can focus on.
Still a great film.

I know someone already answered you but I wanted to add that Jake G. actually came up with his twitch as well and Villeneuve thought it was a good idea and went with it.
