Vin Diesel posted this on his Facebook page yesterday:
"When a dream is born in your childhood... When you spend a decade daring to pursue it... The day, a head of a studio says, 'I want to make all three films of your Hannibal trilogy!' It takes a minute to sink in. It's still sinking in."
Background info:
Back in 2007, Vin Diesel announced that he was working on "Hannibal the Conqueror," a film about the life of Carthaginian military commander Hannibal Barca, which will be made in the original Punic language. Diesel was planning to star in the new film.
Then in 2010, the actor revealed that Tony Scott was attached to direct and that there were talks with Denzel Washington to join the cast. He also said that the story would have to become a trilogy to be told properly.
