Goldeneye on Blu-Ray
Hadn't seen it in a while and loved it (again)! Forgot about the tank scene. Brosnan is Bond (for me).

Evil Dead II (1987): Always love revisiting this one!
Freaks (1932): Ridiculously awesome ending! Beyond satisfying!
Evil Dead (2013): I enjoyed the FX work and cinematography but was very underwhelmed by everything else the film had to offer.

Evil Dead (2013)
2/10
Maybe the unrated BD will have the scares and the gore that the theatrical version was missing. Plus it was just boring.

Drag Me To Hell (2009): I love this film. Just as fun as my first viewing theatrically.

Mud: 4/5
The young lead was great and McConaughey's performance was engrossing (you almost forget it's him... then he takes off his shirt - i wish i had his abs).

Evil Dead - Extremely disappointing. Really bad on multiple levels, with the blood being its only saving grace. Even the cameo in the tag, which should have given me a nerd-boner, just made me shake me head.
The Devils Carnival - Darren Lynn Bousman's follow up to Repo! A genetic Opera (which I'm a huge fan of) with much of the same cast, writer, style and so on. Starring the other Boondock Saint (who's acting is brutally bad, wow) in the lead. While good, it felt a bit disjointed and lasted only about an hour. The songs weren't that catchy either.

Observe and Report
I'll never understand all the hatred for this movie. Personally, I love it.

Jason Becker: Not Dead Yet
Absolutely heartbreaking doc on one of the most virtuosic guitar players of all time. Just as he breaks out and joins David Lee Roth's solo band, an ALS diagnosis almost immediately sidelines his budding career. But the guy is still alive! Although he is unable to move or speak, with his family's help, and the aid of technology, he is still composing music and living to the best of his abilities. Total must-see.

What's funny is that I totally dig Cacophony, but my main interest in them was my love of Friedman's playing. I had no idea Becker was the other half! Blew me away what that guy was capable of at such a young age. I'm an emotional rock 99.9% of the time, but watching this... uh... yea, I got something in my eye...

Living in the SF Bay Area, there have been many local media pieces on Jason through the years, and as a player myself, I've read/seen everything on him in Guitar Player/Guitar World/Youtube etc.. calling it an amazing story, doesn't seem to do his story justice.
I can't wait to see this film, Killer Cannibal... and yeah...I'll probably end up getting something in my eye, probably both eyes.

Roadie - 2.5/5
A roadie for Blue Oyster Cult for more than 20 years returns to his Queens, NY neighborhood after being fired.
Started out pretty good and lost steam at around the halfway point.

GANGSTER SQUAD
i went into this with low expectations but ended up enjoying myself. it's a popcorn version of THE UNTOUCHABLES. dumber, more action, cartoonish...you get the point. yet i still liked it overall. gosling and brolin both deliver good performances while sean penn seems to think he was acting in DICK TRACY. it's cliched and full of cheesey noir-esque dialog but that actually fizzles away after the first 30 minutes or so. i was entertained the whole way through and that's all i could really ask for. 3.5/5
