Ghost Ship- Lame as hell horror flick which presumes that you've never seen another in your life about a haunted boat which lures travelers on board down to hell to by killing them like slasher victims. Cliche-ridden and saddled with a nonsensical ending, it's pretty much a total failure outside of the impressive production design.

Raze - Zoe Bell and company are back and they're not taking names. It's a great little pit-fighter type of flick with beautiful women beating the shit out of each other. Great stuntwork and great fights make more than a rental.

I really like the opening of this movie.

And then...yeah, it sucks.

I always seem to get this confused with this:

but yeah, the opening mass death bisection scene is amazing.

What hype? I haven't seen one good thing about that movie. No idea where you could have got the idea it was some four-star totally unique, gripping, worthwhile masterclass that is both groundbreaking and stunning.

88% on RT. 109 fresh, 15 rotten. That's a bit more than "one good thing."

Grey Gardens (2009)
Grey Gardens (1975)

I thought Drew Barrymore's performance in the movie was exaggerated and over the top until I followed it up by watching the Maysles brothers documentary. It's actually eerie how well she channeled Little Edie. Jessica Lange was brilliant as always. The documentery was facisnating to watch afterward.

Mud - 4/5

Coming of age tale about two boys who find a man on a small island off the Mississippi River that claims to be a fugitive running from both the law and the family of the man he killed. Another good film from Jeff Nichols featuring memorable performances by Matthew McConaughey & Reese Witherspoon.

I would've loved if there'd been an IMAX 2-D version.

I rented this, heard such great things about it then just couldn't get into it. I must have been in an impatient mood because I got bored quickly and turned it off. I'll have to try it again because I never hear bad reviews about it.

In the middle of Wolf Of Wall Street. This one's a long on so I'm splitting it up over a couple viewings

yeah, it's a bit hard to talk about it in the 'reviews' thread where comments are posted unspoiled.
