It is worth searching for. The fact that it was shot in a single take was not used as a gimmick, it really helps ratchet up the tension. The acting is excellent overall and Stephen Graham is fantastic playing a chef dealing with multiple problems.

I think after watching this, nobody would want to work in a restaurant. The director worked 12 years in a restaurant so he knows what it is like.

Looks like it is available for free on ROKU

I will check it out and put up with their 20 ad breaks

Starz

It was awful though it had Lily Rabe and Thomas Jane chewing the scenery as a cult leader.

Grand Canyon Starz
Kevin Kline, Danny Glover. Written and Directed by Lawrence Kasdan. 1991
Grand Canyon revolves around six residents from different backgrounds whose lives intertwine in modern-day Los Angeles. At the center of the film is the unlikely friendship of two men from different races and classes brought together when one finds himself in jeopardy in the other's rough neighborhood.

I remember seeing "Grand Canyon" in its theatrical run and being so surprised and impressed that I recommended it to all my friends. As I recall, it didn't do all that well, which was a shame. I haven't watched it in over twenty years but much of it holds up. It's talky as hell, and occasionally it comes across as a smarty-pants movie. Still, there's a lot to like here, including a tremendous cast. A lot of what the film deals with remains relevant, and I wonder how Kasdan feels about it today.

Showtime

Kathy Baker was surprisingly sexy as a lady of the night.

I wished Reeve got to do more serious dramatic roles when he was alive.

Teenage Hitchhikers Code Red DVD
Chris Jordan, Sandra Peabody. Directed by "Claude Goddard". 1974
Mouse and Bird are a couple of sassy and sexy young hitchhikers who embark on a cross country trip in search of freedom, excitement, and independence. The lovely ladies use their bodies as currency and encounter a diverse array of libidinous folks on their journey.

It may be low-budget Drive-In fare with no-name actors willing to strip, but it's remarkably good-natured and fun. Mouse and Bird are essentially tricksters, going from vignette to vignette trying to make pocket money while managing to outsmart the lecherous men and women who seek to take advantage of them. Chris Jordan even has a bit of a Bugs Bunny overbite. Actually, I was reminded of the early films of Russ Meyer (of whom I'm a huge fan), except the very natural body types on display are the exact opposite of the top-heavy women he favored.

Apt Pupil Starz
Ian McKellen, Brad Renfro. Directed by Bryan Singer. 1998
A teen blackmails his neighbor after suspecting him to be a Nazi war criminal.

Another film I'm re-visiting after about 20 years or so. This was Bryan Singer's follow-up to "The Usual Suspects", though it's not quite as successful. Ian McKellen is sensational, and the late Brad Renfro is quite good as well. The first hour is a terrific cat-and-mouse game between the two, but the film has some problems in the Second Act maintaining suspense while keeping the story believable. The real MVP here is Composer/Editor John Ottman, who, -just as he did with "Suspects", -knows how to cut film to music and create some bravura sequences. Reading the Wikipedia entries on Bryan Singer and Brad Renfro after the film is kind of troubling.

Showtime

Back in the early to mid 90's when Pesci was doing a lot of comedies.

I know it bombed but I liked it since Pesci and Slater are two of my favorites and maybe it not a broad comedy and more of a satire.

Robbie Robertson did the score.

The Warrior and The Sorceress Shout Factory DVD
David Carradine, Luke Askew. Directed by John C. Broderick 1984
The mighty warrior, Kain, crosses the barren wastelands of the planet Ura, where two arch enemies, Zeg and the evil degenerate Balcaz, fight incessantly for control of the village's only well. Kain sees his opportunity and announces that his sword is for hire.

Yet another film that "borrows" the plot of Akira Kurosawa's "Yojimbo", - a mercenary arrives in town and takes advantage of two rival gangs fighting for control. The most popular "adaptation" is "A Fistful of Dollars", but it's such a simple, effective concept that there's been plenty of others. I was surprised to see Illustrator William Stout credited for story and script. Stout's a favorite of mine, and he's best known for his best-selling books of dinosaur illustrations. He's also storyboarded a bunch of genre films, including "Return of the Living Dead" (that "Tar Man" skeleton animatronic and the half-zombie lashed to the table is pure Stout). I can see his visual ideas here, but they're more like rough drafts, since the producers clearly couldn't afford the polish they deserve. Carradine looks a little haggard, but he brings a nice physicality to the role; the rest of the cast gives serviceable performances for this type of low budget, "shoot it fast, shoot it cheap" kind of film. The DVD version looks much better than the version currently streaming on FreeVee.

Starz

Based on a True Story

"Morrison (James Cromwell) is an 87-year-old New Brunswick farmer determined to build by himself a more navigable home on his own land for himself and his cherished wife of 61 years, Irene (Genevieve Bujold), who is inexorably sliding into dementia."

Great performance by Cromwell though the subject matter is not the most pleasant but there is humor mixed in.

It is scary how some of their experiences remind me of my parents right now

Barbarian Queen Shout Factory DVD
Lana Clarkson. Directed by Hector Olivera. 1985
A simple village is raided by Roman troops and most of the people are whisked off to be slaves or killed. Three women survive and set off to liberate their people.

It's another Roger Corman production filmed in Argentina, with nudity and/or violence at regular intervals. It's not very convincing as a period piece, with the costumes seeming both inauthentic and fresh out of the box; the actors all seem like they're office workers at a cosplay retreat. That being said, it's decent light entertainment that doesn't over-stay its welcome, and Lana Clarkson definitely carries off the lead role.

Shackled (2021) — Slow and pretty boring and the last 20 minutes are just laughable. I guess the lead did okay since she other than the last act has nothing and nobody to act with. Skip. *˝/***** (Tubi)
