I own this

A long time since I saw this

I liked it before but no probably love it since they don't make these type of movies anymore.

Now Gyllenhaal is older and buffer now and could not play a scrawny nerd type anymore.

The Minute You Wake Up Dead (2022) — Middling mystery-thriller that turns into a black comedy halfway through, but not very effective either way. I assume this is just another paycheck for this cast as there's nothing here that makes it very entertaining, but I guess I expect no less from the folks at Grindstone Entertainment... **¼/*****

Emily the Criminal - I like Aubrey Plaza and enjoyed this, though the character she plays isn't always likeable and makes increasingly poor decisions throughout.

Netflix disc rental

The latest from James Gray.

Maybe if you want a Fabelmann type movie with a Jewish family but with more of a edge and "R" rating you might like this.

Surprised this got no major publicity for a movie starring Anthony Hopkins and Anne Hathaway.

I did not know until the closing credits Jeremy Strong played the dad and he was great in his role.

Jessica Chastain had a surprise appearance.

Starz

I think I saw this before but if not still worth a watch.

Maybe Byrne and Cannavale began their relationship during this movie.

Showtime

I think Samuel L. Jackson said this was his favorite movie that he made or worked on.

It does not hold up and maybe Davis regrets doing some of those scenes in her underwear after the metoo movement.

Old (2021)written, directed, and produced by M. Night Shyamalan. We found Shyamalan still at the of his game here. A very intriguing and good film.

Me3gan…This was pretty good. Creepy as hell. Well done and acted. You’d think Megan was a cgi doll, but it’s actually a real little girl. Nicely done by one of my most attractive actresses on tv when she was on Girls. Williams is so cute.

A great cast wasted on a boring movie.

Jim Caviezel gave a good performance in a boring movie though.

Puss in Boots: The Last Wish
Solid flick but man did they push it for a kid friendly family flick (the jokes, murders and contemplating mortality)

The Last American Virgin…this really looked great and the interviews are not to be missed. This is a gem I’ve always loved. Now, looks great and still feel Gary’s pain. Great flick.

Blade of the 47 Ronin (2022)

Currently on Netflix. It's a straight to video in name only sequel to the 2013 movie that starred Keanu Reaves.

It was awful.

Starz

This was shit.

Maybe the one scene where this fat guy fights this other guy in the street with a bunch of bikers looking on was the only moment of excitement.

I think Rourke has ruined his face so bad with plastic surgery he will never get casted as a good guy ever again.

Showtime

I only checked it out for Freida Pinto and except with her scenes with Mr. Malcolm it was a complete bore.
