Showtime

Some people wish they are Superman or Spiderman when they see a movie but I want to be this guy Ray son of Jack Nicholson who gets to nail Diane Krueger.

Some scenes made me horny which is rare in a Hollywood movie.

Slumberland: Jason Momoa does a good job in a weird movie, I wish the Little Nemo storylines had been used for a proper adaptation but this had some real cute and fun moments

The Batman. I think this is the best of the batman movies, just because its the most grounded. I hated the idea that Pattinson was cast originally but I honestly love him in the role. I tend to not like comic book movies anymore but this is a really great film

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022)

While it doesn't hit the highs of the previous film, its still an enjoyable Marvel romp, though the pacing can be grueling at times.

Absolutely loved Tenoch Huerta as Namor.

Thor: Love and Thunder is rather great in 3D. Very good depth. Not too much gimmicky pop outs. Even the dark scenes showed depth which I hardly see. Makes a pretty bad movie a little more fun.

I own this

I liked this a lot more than the HBO series.

Yul Brenner though he does not say much was great.

I would not mind if they remade this but updated with better special effects

It was good but not as great as the original and maybe a little overrated considering all the money it made at the box office.

Still I bought it and will revisit it again maybe when I am 50 in 2024

Ticket To Paradise (2022)

If you've seen any Romantic Comedy from the 90s/00s, then you've seen this film.

It has some entertaining bits but I wish Director/Writer Ol Parker focused a bit more on George Clooney & Julia Roberts' characters.

Mystery Men (1999) — Last saw Mystery Men probably 1999/2000 depending on when the DVD came out. I didn't think much of it then and my opinion 20+ years later really hasn't changed. Now the movie has its moments I guess and I did chuckle a few times but otherwise I found it pretty dull in spite of the spectacle finale (topped off with late 90s effects). Strange because it has a solid and talented cast. **½/***** (4K Ultra HD)

Netflix rental

It filled the Hollywood quote of the 3 comedies that have to be released theatrically in 2022.

It had some LOL moments but not a lot.

I wish Jo Koy wrote the screenplay and he put more of his brand of humor in the movie

How is it overrated because of the box office? This was literally the best reviewed movie of 2022 both from audience and critics. And it happened to be a summer blockbuster. The majority of people loved it and paid to see it 3, 4, 5 6 times and more. People love a movie enough, they will produce return business.

And you’re entitled to your opinion, but this blows away the 1986 movie in my opinion. Not trying to shill this movie, but it was probably the most entertaining movie of 2022 with lots of replay value.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

I did not care about the young stars in the movie

I wish Ed Harris had a bigger role.

They probably saw it that many times more for the special effects and the noise and watching the planes fly more than the actual story or characters.

Showtime

Dreyfuss shines in this and maybe it is a little sappy but I liked it and recommended for people that like family movies.

Cinemax

The movie that gets spoofed on Mystery Science Theater

I think they dubbed Harvey Kietel's voice since it sounded nothing like him and Fawcett was so shitty in this movie but the only bright spot looking at her face and body.

Pengabdi Setan 2: Communion (2022)

While its clear Director/Writer Joko Anwar toned down the amount of scares in favor of character development and atmosphere, the film's eventual payoff falls incredibly flat.

The Menu (2022)

This film is absolutely zany and I'm here for it.

Wonderful performances from Anya Taylor-Joy, Ralph Fiennes & Hong Chau.

The Banshees of Inisherin (2022)

Another fantastic film from Director/Writer Martin McDonagh anchored by wonderful performances from Colin Farrell, Brendan Gleeson, Kerry Condon & Barry Keoghan.

Thematically, there's a lot to unpack within and I can't wait to revisit it in the near future.

A Christmas Story Christmas- HBO Max. I have not seen the original but I really enjoyed this film. Quite funny at times and plenty of heart.
