Starz

It had some laughs

Cobie Smulders in a two piece bikini or underwear in one scene trying to seduce her husband

The only good thing Sharon Stone at her peak hotness in 1992.

Smile…boring. Not much thrill in a horror thriller. Not much of anything and I still don’t know wtf was going on and who this entity is or what’s it all about.

Enola Holmes…surprisingly very entertaining. I knew it got high marks and I heard about it, but didn’t give it a thought really. Then I saw new one out tomorrow and thought I’d give the first a chance. Glad I did. Very enjoyable. Millie is great as was Cavill. I can see why people see him as Bond now. Still not the best choice, but I get it. Didn’t even know he was in it and played Sherlock. Nice surprise and now looking forward to second, which is getting great early reviews.

[emphasis added]

His role in The Man from U.N.C.L.E. is the best argument for Cavill as James Bond.

Well, he had that suave, debonair like ease in EH to do Bond.

Apple +

Great performances by Jennifer Lawrence and Brian Tyree Henry though maybe the slow pace will turn people off

Another movie about broken and damaged people that I like.

Pickman's Model (2022)

While the film nails the Lovecraftian atmosphere, the film is a bit of a chore to get through.

It's also difficult not to laugh at whatever accent Crispin Glover is trying to achieve here.

Dreams In The Witch House (2022)

It was fun seeing Rupert Grint in a Horror film but I'm not sure if I needed DJ Qualls as a talking rat.

The Viewing (2022)

Director/Writer Panos Cosmatos doing Panos Cosmatos things. Loved it.

Having Peter Weller in this film was also a wonderful surprise.

The Murmuring (2022)

While I wasn't the biggest fan of Director/Writer Jennifer Kent's film The Nightingale (2018), I enjoyed this.

Although the film's plot is a fairly standard ghost story, its Jennifer Kent's returning themes of familial trauma (and fantastic performances from Essie Davis and Andrew Lincoln) that hold the film up.

Hulu

I thought it would be generic and forgettable but it was pretty good though the reviews don't agree with me

A lot of blood and gore with just a hammer and a wrench

Netflix rental

It was ok and glad it was not 2hrs and 40 minutes like most Marvel movies

I know he is not young anymore but Russell Crowe could not lose weight and get in shape for this movie?

Werewolf by Night on Disney+, based on Marvel comics. Fun homage to classic horror pics.

Peacock

Maybe I am old but it seems movies that appeal to kids move at a super fast pace for people with short attention spans

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Infernal Affairs (2002) — Solid Hong Kong action-thriller with good performances and fine direction. I do think The Departed did better with connecting the plot and character development (particularly between the undercover cop and psychiatrist). Also thought The Departed was more suspenseful. But that said, Infernal Affairs is a fine film. ***¾/***** (Blu-ray)

Escape from Alcatraz (1979) — Seen this one several times and still is a well done and straight forward, well shot, escape-thriller with fine performances all around. Nothing fancy and just enough character development to make you care. ****/***** (4K Ultra HD)
