The Dogs of War…is this supposed to be good? I Blind bought it and it’s very little war and mostly dogs barking. Kinda boring, even though I love Walken’s swagger.

Epix
It is really more of a comedy than a horror or suspense movie.
Maybe one of Robert Forsters final roles.

Starz
I forgot if I saw this before but it lived up to being a turd.
Maybe Claire Foye and Stephen Graham are embarrassed they did this movie and probably back in 2011 this was the start to the slump of Cage's career.

Jurassic World: Dominion (2022) — Wow. Genetically modified locusts. I hope Universal got a discount on the screenwriters... On the plus side, some of the effects were okay. The hero shots of the two franchises (Jurassic Park and Jurassic World) looked good. Otherwise this was a slug to get through and felt like the old guard and new guard were phoning it in. I didn't like Lost Kingdom very much but at least it was entertainingly dumb. *¼/***** (4K Ultra HD)

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Huge fan of the 2009 original, so this prequel seemed like a mandatory watch - and was able to view via a 7-day free preview of Paramount+ via Amazon Prime.
Conceptually it's a fairly daring concept: shoot a prequel 13 years after the first film, with the original lead actress (now 25) playing a 10 year old. Yeah, a challenge to be sure.
And let's not over analyze the title of this, which isn't really accurate.
The most curious part of the film is the tricks used to make her appear small/young, some of which work better than others. Some not so much.
Still, the character is a brutal killing machine, and the plot serves up a bat shit crazy turn that gave this one more than enough to make it watchable.

This was not bad at all though maybe obesity and suicide might not be the most pleasant subjects.
Mira Sorvino as the mom and Ravi Patel as the doctor were good too.
The main character drove a sick blue Mustang GT

Last night my youngest son (13) and I watched The Incredible Hulk (2008). He’s never seen most of the MCU movies so he asked if we could watch one a week. He really liked it.

Today, I watched Samaritan (2022) out of boredom and was entertained.

Netflix rental
I thought it was a crime movie with a priest but it is a faith movie but with profanity in it.
Maybe Wahlberg gained weight near the end or it was a fat suit.

HBO Max
Maybe people thought it was going to be a horror movie but more of a psychological drama
I thought it was great and well-acted.

Paris, Texas (1984)
Beautifully shot with fantastic performances, especially from Harry Dean Stanton.
The final act of the film always tears my heart out.

I think the main lead was the main star of those Orphan movies?
The movie was boring.

Cool World (1992) — I'm not 100% positive but I think my parents took me to see this, when I was only 11 years old, and I'm pretty sure they were at the very least unconformable though this was only a month after they took me to see Batman Returns so... Anyway, seeing this again after 30 years, this feels like a movie made for people to watch while high because I was perplexed at what this was. It also had the stench of studio interference with a confusing plot at least early on and not helped by one-dimensional characters and hammy acting, with Brad Pitt seeming to regret taking the role even if it was early in his career. Kim Basinger as Holli Would was fun, to say the least. And Gabriel Byrne just look confused.
The scenes with animation and live action felt unpolished compared to something like Who Framed Roger Rabbit, however some of the real sets definitely had some interesting aesthetics to them. I don't know, this is one that some might appreciate but for myself I doubt I'd ever revisit. **½/***** (Blu-ray)
