Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

I was watching Amityville II: The Possession last night on HBO Max. Had not seen it in many many years.

I had forgotten the movie has one scene involving incest. The oldest son of the family who is possessed seduces and has sex with his younger sister. That scene made me very uncomfortable

It was decent entertainment for a Sat night though was hoping it would be rated "R" and we could also get a nude or sex scene with Ana De Armas.

Netflix rental

Maybe kind of slow and not a lot of dialogue

It was ok.

HBO

I decided to give it a third chance and it just confirmed what I thought during the first viewing.

It was slow and the plot was kind of hard to follow and not even close to the fun you got from the TV series thought the actors in the movie are a lot better than the ones on the show though Don Johnson and Olmos could act.

I cancelled my blu-ray order at Amazon.

Borrego (2022)

I watched this movie tonight on Netflix. It stars Lucy Hale from Pretty Little Liars and Nicholas Gonzalez, who was on The Good Doctor.

It's a small indie movie and I actually thought it was pretty good and compelling. Hale plays a botanist who accidentally encounters a drug smuggler in the California desert and she gets caught in a smuggling ring and trying to survive captivity.

Very small cast, but I thought it was a pretty effective thriller. Some good tension.

Tatum is good in comedic roles, IMO (as well a roles meant to get the ladies flustered). 21 Jump Street was hilarious.

I don't get his appeal just like I never got how Britney Spears became so popular either both talentless hacks.

Starz

A extremely rare sex comedy in 2021

It was not bad for a Mon night and had some laughs.

Iliza Shlesinger appeared in one scene and she was smoking hot.

Last Night In Soho - I may have to get this on blu-ray just for the quite viewable Joy & Riggs (her LAST appearance!) plus the music is so fab. Well shot too and very colorful.

HBO

It is all in subtitles but decided to check it out since I like Matthias Schoenaerts.

Adèle Exarchopoulos has to be one of the hottest women ever in cinema.

A rare miss for Judi Dench.

HBO

Way back from 2014 and now all of actors are major stars now (Except Jessica Lucas but she was not in most of the movie) and get top billing in movies and McKenzie Davis also gets the plum roles.

Miles Teller was the dorky guy in this movie considering his image now

A 3 out of 5 stars movie

It could be amusing sometimes but a lot of dick jokes and crude humor.

Starz

Putting Mr. T on the poster was false advertising but probably he was huge then and they needed all the PR for this turd.

Bill Maher was in this too and he looked like Brecken Meyer.

I wanted to relive the unapologetic and non PC 80's comedies but this was average at best.

Except for the girl who shows her tits and gets stripped by Gary Busey I don't think I will remember a lot from this.

DC League of Super Pets (2022)

A very fun and charming animated movie featuring Krypto the super dog and the rest of the famous DC Super Heroes.

Very likeable and had a lot of humor and heart. I know not everyone here likes or watches animated movies, but I though this was very much worth watching, If you have a family, it's worth an afternoon matinee.

Vengeance (2022)

Overall I enjoyed it. A quirky dark comedy and murder mystery about a podcaster who gets thrown into a whirlwind situation after one of his "hook ups" dies and he comes to her funeral in a small Texas town. This won't win any awards and won't be a box office hit, but it's a solid directorial debut by BJ Novak, who starred in The Office as Ryan. He's not the most charismatic actor and I'm sure a more known star would get more eyes on this, but it's a pretty decent 1st effort.
