Like DJariya said, she will be on the second season of GG. However, before that, you're right, she kind of just dropped off the map. Looking at IMDb, she did some voice work on TV in 2018, but her last feature film was back in 2014.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Vampire's Kiss (1988) — Finally got around to watching this after seeing so many memes and clips over the years. Nicolas Cage is at his weirdest for sure but so much fun in his over-the-top performance. Oh, and it's always great seeing Jennifer Beals, especially playing a vampiress (well, kind of). As a whole, not sure if this is brilliantly insane or insanely brilliant, either way I don't think I'll ever forget this one... ***½/*****

2008 with Sean Faris, Gary Cole, Sean Astin, and Neal McDonough.

HDNET Movies

I did not know this existed

Probably not a big market for feel good Rugby stories.

HBO

Finally took if off the DVR after 4 years

I know it is considered a classic by many but I thought it was ok but not great.

I liked the Spielberg version better and since I saw that first I knew what was going to happen.

Natalie Wood and Rita Moreno might have been the only big names that came out of this movie though I saw Richard Beymour has a extensive list of credits but I doubt anyone can recognize his name or know who he is.

I wonder how they got away with the first 5 minutes of the movie where all you see is squiggly lines and hear music but nothing is going on?

At first I thought maybe there was a problem with the recording.

Steele Justice (1987) — Cheesy 1980s action-thriller has its moments but lead actor Martin Kove had very little charisma and the fight choreography wasn't all that well done either. I suppose it was watchable and maybe with a group some fun may be had, but this is just another forgettable action film amongst a slew from the 1980s not starring Stallone or Schwarzenegger. **½/***** (Blu-ray)

Sony Movie Channel

Another movie I had on the DVR for a couple of years and now watched.

I wonder how they got away with that poster in the 70's when some people might think it was a movie for gay people?

THAT opening was the overture that used to be in vogue back then.

That is a thing that they would probably not do today unless you went to a small theater.

Showtime

X-Men: Apocalypse (3D)….good 3D. Bad movie, but I do like how all of the 4 stayed true to original OG X-Men and continuity was mostly, not entirely, certainly, but wasn’t too many deviations from the ones we saw longer ago. With big exception to Mystique/Raven character.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix….nah.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Magnolia (1999) — Been a long time since I last watched this but even though this was 3 hours long, never felt the length and I was pretty much captivated throughout (although I did pause a few times to get refill on my drink or grab a snack). The performances all around were great, most notably Tom Cruise, Melora Walters, John C. Reilly and the young Jeremy Blackman (Stanley). It does get heavy-handed and while I "get" the raining frogs scene, that took me out a bit (albeit it was towards the end). ****/***** (Blu-ray)

As a side, the other two kids (Julia and Richard) were hacks, counting on Stanley to carry them. Something that irked me the first time I saw this, lol.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

I saw it again earlier this year but over two days.

It still holds up and the late great Phillip Baker Hall was in it too.

Netflix streaming

This was a odd movie.

Craig Robinson just grunted throughout the whole movie

Stranger Things s4 finale at 2 1/2 hrs quals as a "movie" - it was alright but lots of padding and unnecessary character dev that was obviously delaying the big fights. Plus it was cringey..

Black Rain (1989) — Well made neo-noir thriller featuring great performances by Douglas, Garcia and Takakura with special mention to Yûsaku Matsuda who worked on this despite dying with bladder cancer (and he was only 40 years old). Not top shelf work compared to other Ridley Scott movies but it is shot well (courtesy also to DP Jan de Bont). ****/***** (Blu-ray)

The Gray Man (2022)

The newest movie from the Russo Brothers and the writers of Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame.

Doesn't come out on Netflix until Friday, but it's playing in select theaters, so I went and saw a screening today. Not bad, but not great. Has good production value and some good action sequences and set pieces along with locales.

But, for me a really hammy performance by Chris Evans was the weak point. I just couldn't take him seriously as a menacing villain and evil foe to Gosling's "Six" character, who is an off the books operative for the U.S. government,
