Thief (1981) — Seen this one before but decided to do another watch at random. Really great crime-thriller with James Caan perfect alongside Michael Mann's masterful direction and writing. Not quite to the level of something like Heat but probably just below. One of the best heist films ever of the ones I've seen. ****/***** (Blu-ray)

Showtime

It was worth revisiting after Hall's death

If you were a fan of his this is a must see and probably the best thing he ever did and should have gotten a Oscar nomination.

Maybe Paltrow was the only person that was not up to par in the cast.

John C. Reilly looked so young back in 1996.

A crime it did not get a official U.S. bllu-ray release and weird since it is a Paul Thomas Anderson movie and usually all of his movies I would assume have to be available on Blu-ray.

Amazon Prime rental

$0 with credits?

I did think it was that bad though Watts running and checking on her phone can be tiring and felt I was tired and exhausted too watching her run and out of breath

Spiderhead - new Netflix movie with Chris Hemsworth and Miles Teller. Interesting premise and the acting and directing are good, but the climax and resolution were just okay.

News Of The World (2020)

I absolutely loved it - Tom Hanks does not make bad movies. He is up there with Clint for me.

Did you miss Larry Crowne, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Cloud Atlas, and the Circle?

He was barely in Extremely Loud so give him a pass for that.

Agent Game (2022) — Surprisingly not an entirely incompetently made espionage-thriller. The acting was so-so though Mel Gibson at least seemed to be trying and Dermot Mulroney further proves he's an underrated actor. As these DTV flicks go, I at least was entertained even if the editing could've been better and the fight sequences better choreographed but could've been the budget limitations. The script wasn't the best as it seemed straight out of the 90s (not necessarily a bad thing). I don't know, maybe it got me on the right night but I kind of enjoyed it, warts and all. ***/***** (Blu-ray)

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness...This was too Raimi for its own good. Reminded me way too much of Drag Me to Hell which I just saw again and it sucked. Very boring. This isn’t boring, but def darker and less fun. Almost reminds me of the dark Thor: Dark World. White Walker Strange, really?

The opening was terrible. The story was dreadful. Definitely one of my least favorite MCU films. And, if you didn’t see Wandavision you miss so much. Or to a very lesser extent What if?.

This was just uninteresting and not fun. The first was a lot of fun and wish Derrikson stuck with it. Very Raimi. Though the Bruce Campbell cameo was great. As was Xavier’s and great they got the X-Men theme for those few seconds. Benedict Wong def slimmed down and looked good. Why did Stulhburg need that hideous blond wig?

This kinda felt redundant with all we’ve seen with No Way Home, Into the Spider-Verse. They did it much better. This one not so much.

Surprised this opened to me on D+ already, but pleasant surprise. Even got notification. Oh well, Thor 4 to look forward too.

Showtime

I liked it and thought it was funny though it might sound creepy a woman in her 40's (Melanie Lynskey) having a fling with a 19 year old guy

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Mona Lisa (1986) — Really good British neo-noir featuring great performances from Bob Hoskins and the lovely Cathy Tyson who share some nice scenes together and a pretty melancholy ending. Michael Caine is great as a classy scumbag (seems like he played many of these roles in the 70s and 80s). This is the second time seeing this and still holds up. ****/***** (Blu-ray)

Rewatched Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz this week. I've seen Shaun several times, and Hot Fuzz twice before. Will rewatch The World's End soon--I've only seen it once before.

Amazon Prime or AMC + if you have that

If you need a movie to celebrate Pride month watching Dianna Agron make out Paz De La Huerte is not a bad start though she has a nice body but not really into Paz.

Agron was good in this and nice to see her not have black or dark hair in this movie.

This was awful and Cobie Smulders played one of the most annoying characters to ever appear in a movie.
