This was boring and the songs were terrible and definitely no West Side Story

Double Jeopardy (1999) — Weak and from a legal standpoint complete wrong (despite a former lawyer turned murderer and former law professor saying so). Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones are good and Bruce Greenwood plays smarmy well but this isn't a very good thriller. **¾/*****

His House (2020)
Absolutely fantastic Horror film about the guilt & trauma of two refugees and the ghosts that continue to haunt them.
The screenplay from Felicity Evans & Toby Venables is pertinent and fresh.
If this is Director Remi Weekes' debut, I can't wait to see what he does next

The Creed movies were a lot more fun.
The boy who played the kid could not act for shit.
Disappointed Denzel directed this and expected more.

Midsommar: Director's Cut
While I didn't particularly enjoy all of the additions in the Director's Cut, this film remains one of my favorites of the past 10-years.

Werewolves Within - Showtime on demand. It was okay and I was hoping to like it more than I did but still an okay watch as I was getting ready to sleep, and finished up early this morning. This stars Milana Vayntrub, so some folks might check it out if you are a Milana fan.

Heist (2001) — My third time seeing this over the years and still holds up as a solid crime-thriller. Mamet's dialogue is distinct and might not be for everybody but I find it quite a bit of fun. Hackman and Lindo are in their element and DeVito chews up the scenery. ***¾/*****

It was ok but they could have edited down to 2 hrs
Surprise it did not get a 90 or above audience rating which every Marvel movie gets at Rotten Tomatoes

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

I own this.
You would think if you get sunburn from a UFO experience it would be something you would want to avoid and not revisit

Maybe some of the special effects look dated now especially near the beginning of the movie and the small ships
I wonder how a sequel would have turned out if they explored what happened when Dreyfuss entered the ship and maybe came back to earth?
I guess ET was supposedly the unofficial sequel and that is why it never happened.

London Has Fallen (2016)
This has been available on Hoopla forever, but I heard it was pretty meh so I kept putting off seeing it. Well, I finally got around to watching the movie, and I have to have say that I can't blame anyone for shitting on it.
The first half hour that sets up the main 'plot' is actually pretty decent. Showing how close Banning and President Asher are is a good move considering how they get paired up for most of the movie. Although they're cliched, the scenes showing us that Banning loves his wife and has a baby on the way give his character a reason to get home in one piece. The little snippets introducing the world leaders meant that we had at least an inkling of them being more than just walking targets.
But when the shit hits the fan, the movie aims for the nearest cliff ledge and slams on the gas. I don't understand why the movie bothers to show New Scotland Yard and the British security forces if they're going to be less than useless. If they're as ineffective in real life as they are in this movie, a couple of dozen members of this forum armed only with their physical media collections could simply waltz into London and seize control of the place in a couple of hours.
And that helicopter convoy carrying President Asher...why were they flying so low that anti-aircraft rockets could hit them? Once the first missile is launched, wouldn't your evasive maneuvers include getting some altitude? I was actually expecting the convoy to come under attack by drones or enemy aircraft because that would've made more sense than a bunch of guys on top of buildings that are on the exact flight path of the President's escape route.
I have to assume that the branches of the British Armed Forces are either exceedingly busy or exceptionally small in this movie's universe because they're nowhere to be found for most of the film. With everything going on, the only people on the streets of London are Banning, Asher, and wave after wave of terrorists.
At least in Red Dawn, the Soviets attacked a small town in Colorado; this is freaking modern-day London, one of the biggest cities in the world, and it somehow gets overrun by foreign hostiles. The first three Die Hard movies actually seem so much more plausible when compared to this movie.
I heard Angel Has Fallen is better than this, and that's not difficult for me to believe. You'd have to work very hard to make a movie dumber than this one.

Yes, they both had MBJ, but they aren't comparable at all. Two completely polar opposite genres. That's like comparing Sabrina with Harrison Ford and Indiana Jones. Or comparing Rhinestone and Cobra just because they both star Stallone.

A lot of people liked this movie but except for maybe 3 Sean Connery scenes and some Queen songs it is kind of a bore.
Who was Christopher Lambert sucking off in the 80's to be cast as a lead in any movie?
I bet there are better actors in high school plays.

It made the quota of the second comedy Hollywood released in 2021.
Kristen Bell looks like Glen Close in this movie.
Paul Walter Hauser was the highlight and stole the show but just a average movie
