Hulu

I was not expecting much but this surprised me and connected with the Flanery character and I am not a MMA fan but enjoyed this and not as predictable in the end.

Flanery looks like a young Mickey Rourke before all the surgeries.

if it was a PG or Disney inspirational movie it would have sucked,

Katrina Bowden the hottie from 30 Rock is in it too.

Starz

Not LOL funny at all and maybe would have worked better as a drama but then it might become unsufferable

Mr. Majestyk (1974) — Entertaining enough suspense-thriller has a slow start and takes a bit of time for the set up, however the finale was fun and Charles Bronson is at his best exacting vengeance. Not his best work and Death Wish is far superior IMO, but still worth checking out. ***½/***** (Kino Lorber Blu-ray)

Deep Blood (1990)

The first 8-minutes of this film remind you that this is indeed a Joe D'Amato film.

Though unlike some of his previous efforts (Antropophagus, Beyond The Darkness, Absurd), this film lacks any sort of fun or bat-shit moments you know to expect from D'Amato.

What it does provide you is endless (slow) 80s melodrama, stock footage of sharks and people flailing around in red water.

Ghostbusters Afterlife. Saw with my brothers family on Black Friday and it was a charming film.

Mr. No Legs (1978)

Former Marine (and double amputee) Ted Vollrath steals every scene he's in during this fun 90-minute Exploitation romp.

Wouldn't change a thing about this film, other than shortening the over-long finale.

The Immortalizer (1989)

If I'm to believe the unique brain surgery that occurs in this films allows individuals to switch bodies, why are their former vocal tones transferred over as well?

This film dumped a ton of questions into my lap that it couldn't properly answer, dragging ass in its final 40-45-minutes.

I appreciated aspects of Chris Crone's performance and a decent amount of John Carter's FX work but I won't be re-visiting this one any time soon.

Mad Max 2 (a.k.a. The Road Warrior) (1981) — Really great sequel that surpasses the original. While short on character moments, the action sequences were fantastic culminating with an adrenaline-filled finale. All in all highly entertaining with just enough weidness to make it stand out all the more... ****/*****

Jungle Cruise -Well WE really enjoyed it despite all the naysayers, especially after watching the rather good Destroyer(2018); what's not to love? Good guys / Bad guys (Germans!), lost treasure, adventure and romance, The Rock was solid as always, Emily Blunt was an absolute delight and her brother and his character's development was done very well.

And Soon the Darkness (2010) — Passable enough suspense-thriller made watchable for Amber Heard and Odette Yustman (now Odette Annable) not so much for their acting skills... In all seriousness, it's a short movie with nothing terribly memorable. As a note, this is my second viewing (last was in 2010) and my rating is pretty much the same. **¾/*****

The Green Knight (2021). I got it as a Black Friday blind purchase. I don't know what to think of it. It was slower paced than I would have liked, but was still mildly interesting. I'll probably donate the disc because I don't think I'll ever watch it again.

Ryan Reynolds had some funny lines but overall meh

The critic score is 35% at rotten tomatoes and the audience score is 92%

WTF? I will never trust the audience score not that I did in the first place.

The Fifth Cord (1971) — Very average mystery-horror giallo film that at least stars Franco Nero who I liked here, but otherwise nothing all that good despite some nice cinematography. Not a complete waste of time but I lost interest by the end. **½/*****

Punisher: War Zone (2008) Silly comic-book based action movie. I was wondering why the actor playing Loony Bin Jim looked familiar, then I saw the credits: Dough Hutchison. Does anyone else remember this infamous thread: https://forum.dvdtalk.com/other-talk...-year-old.html

Robin and the 7 Hoods (1964) - a Rat Pack musical comedy with Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Jr., Bing Crosby, and Peter Falk. The plot is a very loose adaptation of the Robin Hood story, set in the world of 1920s Chicago gangsters. The plot is thin and the ending is a little bit WTF. Some of the musical numbers are good, though, and it's one of Crosby's last films.

Backwoods (2008). It got mixed reviews, but I think it's great. Not really like Wrong Turn, since they're not inbreds and they talk. It has the kid from Halloween Resurrection as the protagonist, but he did a solid job. Plus, the score is great. 8/10

Prizzi's Honor. Jack Nicholson, the son of a Mafia boss, marries Kathleen Turner, who turns out to also be working in organized crime. The darkest of black comedies, and a grim satire of The Godfather's pretensions about family and honor. We liked it.

Epix

Aubrey Plaza showed she can act and be sexy in a drama.

The trend of the comedic actor who can excel in drama too continues

Almost everybody in the cast was good though this movie might not be for everyone.
