Snakes on a Plane - Sure it's a dumb movie, but it's not without it's entertainment value. (HBO Max)
Antitrust - Ryan Phillippe is a computer nerd hired by an evil computer company. Ok. (hulu)
Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure - This has long been a guilty pleasure of mine though strangely I don't think I've watched the movie from the beginning in years and years. It's always more been the movie I stopped on when channel flipping. San Dimas High School Football Rules! (VUDU)
Hero (2002) - I had never seen this before. (HBO Max)

Southland Tales - Political satire about a group of neo-marxists attempting to use an amnesia-stricken Hollywood star who is married to a Texas Senator's daughter to gain political leverage while also attempting to bring upon the downfall of a fascist regime.
This movie is still a mess but at least its a memorable one.

Haywire (2011) — Been some time since I last watched this one but on a lark, decided to revisit and while not great and certainly a weaker entry amongst Soderbergh's resume, I found it entertaining enough and the raw fight scenes, with no underlying score, was unique at least and I generally enjoy Gina Carano in the lead here. ***½/*****

Murder by Numbers (2002) — Decent crime-thriller that I saw back in 2002 (probably in theaters as I did go on a weekly basis back then) and while never really impressed me, still found it watchable thanks to the performances from a young Ryan Gosling (only his fifth film) and Michael Pitt, and Sandra Bullock was alright as a damaged homicide detective. Plot plays like an episode of Criminal Minds, which isn't a bad thing to me. Also fun seeing Nick Offerman in a bit role. ***¼/*****, B-

On Hulu
Goldblum and Sheridan give some good performances in a weird and really slow movie with almost no dialogue.

It is not the best Pacino movie but it should have a Blu-ray release with two major stars.

On Hulu
It had some laughs but more of a drama

... just watched The New Mutants. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be. Sure it was predictable, but it was interesting how they tried to shoehorn it into a “horror flick.”
2.5 stars from me.

Beyond The Gates (2016)
Plays as a Low-Budget Horror version of Jumanji.
I enjoyed it just as much during this viewing as I did back in late-2016 during the film's premiere in San Francisco, CA.
The Board Game Design itself & Barbara Crampton absolutely steal the show throughout, as do the hilarious bits of gore.

The Apple Dumpling Gang - Slight, but mildly entertaining. (Disney+)
Polar - Mads Mikkelsen as a retiring hitman who runs afoul of his former employer. This was a crazy movie with wild tonal shifts, but Mikkelsen is good. (Netflix)
Best Laid Plans - I saw this years ago, but I didn't remember much about it. It did remind me how much I liked young Reese. (HBO Max)
The Children (2008) - A horror movie about children who go crazy at a holiday getaway and start attacking the parents. Strange movie and not particularly effective. (HBO Max)

The Unborn (2009) — Poorly conceived (pun intended) supernatural-horror film that is only watchable because of Odette Ystman (not for her acting so much). Gary Oldman is only in this for maybe 20 minutes although gets above title billing; I assume he did this partially as a favor to writer-director David S. Goyer who co-scripted Batman Begins a few years earlier. Idris Elba also has a small role but only 5-10 minutes of screen time himself.
This is one that's been sitting on my shelf for several years, now I know why I've been avoiding watching... *½/*****, D
Still seemed fairly profitable, making $76.5M worldwide off of a $16M budget.

Watched Lawrence of Arabia (Limited Edition, clamshell case) for the first time, it was a grand adventure, one that I enjoyed watching.....once. It was a good story even if I'm not the historian I needed to be to fully understand the endeavor Lawrence undertook, but it was 228 minutes I'll probably not want to invest again.

I thought it would be better
I liked the scenes with Clooney more than the space crew which I found was boring.
it was cringe worthy when they sang Sweet Caroline and why was that in the movie?

Nicole Kidman at her peak hotness in 1995. Tom Cruise was a lucky guy back then.
Maybe this foreshadowed the upcoming Casey Affleck sexual allegations that would happen in the future.

Promising Young Woman...god, holy god was this movie amazing. i thought OldBoy (2003) was ultimate revenge porn, this was revenge porn for the 21st century (but of course in a much less harsh way). just amazing performance by Mulligan. i just saw her on Fallon or Kimmel and she has such a thick accent that her American was flawless.
but, she was sublime, just sublime. so devious, cunning. you think it will go one way and then another and then it goes a way you will never expect and at least for me was completely shocked and a little saddened. wished it went a little different, but how it ended was just legendary. absolutely amazing.
this was truly and amazing piece of cinema. i am just in awe. i started this very late and my tag on this post will reveal and never thought i would finish tonight, but i was glued, absolutely glued. i had to and so glad i did. so much emotion. ultimately tragic for one specific reason, but ultimate revenge. simply stunning and i was entranced from start to finish.
Mulligan needs to be nominated for this. it was and she was just so great!

The Dark Tower - Finally decided to watch this. I've read all the books, and I always figured it was unfilmable. Seeing this film did not change that opinion. (VUDU)

In Fabric (2018) - Man, now this one was the bizarrest movie I have seen in years. Not exactly very successful as a narrative or film, and too protracted, but it has more than its share of fascinating, mesmeric moments.

Judy Amazon Prime
Broke, pill-popping Judy Garland embarks on a series of London performances in what would be the last year or so of her life.
I remember seeing adult Judy Garland here-and-there on Television growing up and she always seemed a twitchy mess and Renee Zellweger certainly captures that; it's a good performance. The movie itself, -because of Judy's life, -is incredibly downbeat and a bit like watching a slow-motion train wreck. It seems fairly credible although they pull out a hugely contrived cornball moment to try to let the film end on a more uplifting note (maybe it's true, but as a grab for your emotions, it's an eye-roller).

The Electric Horseman - Redford and Fonda reteam in this story of an aging ex-rodeo star who steals a mistreated horse. Redford is great, and I loved the first half of the movie. I didn't care for Fonda's character, and the second half romance brought the movie to a halt for me. (HBO Max)
One Night in Bangkok - Siam is going to be the witness to this ultimate test of cerebral fitness. It's basically a Collateral rip-off with more back story. Just watch Collateral. (HBO Max)
