It was not horrible but Will Smith seemed miscast though way too long at over 2 hours.

I can see how some scenes might freak kids out.

I don't think i would buy it since the animated version is better but if somebody gave it to me I would keep it.

Crawl - I guess it was okay. Nothing like Aja's other movies. Based on the reviews, I'd say this one was way overrated. It was okay.

While it does have an 82% on RT, the average rating is 6.74/10 (Metacritic it's a 60), which to me sounds about right.

It was ok though I am not a big fan of zombie movies.

I watched it probably for the second or third time and it still holds up

Wish Jared Hess would return to making movies.

Notting Hill - 3/5 My wife loves this movie, Its got some cute fun moments but others drag for me.
Ready Player One - 5/5 - Only movie made in the last 10 years I'd say is one of my favorites. Love all the little background cameos.
Firebirds - 3/5 - For being a late 80s early 90s action flick this ones pretty solid. Not as good as some of Tommy Lee Jones' or Nicolas Cages other movies but its fun and the action holds up.
War Of The Worlds (1953) - Its a fun flick and its worth watching but its really annoying the aliens arnt tripods.
Godzilla Vs Mechagodzilla - Its a giant lizard fighting a giant robot. Its cheesy yet fun like most of the series.

Countdown. Entertaining for what it is. Definitely set itself up for a sequel.

Maybe I appreciated it more the second time though the Theron character is probably the most unlikeable characters ever in cinema.

I could not imagine being around somebody like that in real life.

Just watched Emmanuel. Great documentary on the 2015 Charlestown church shooting that killed 9 people.

The Beach Bum - 2.5/5 - The daily debauchery filled life of a of a pot smoking alcoholic womanizing poet. Average comedy with some hilarious moments.

Damage - 4.5/5 - A middle aged politician has an illicit affair with his son's fiancee. Powerful stuff about adults who engage in destructive behavior because of childhood wounds.

Dead Ringers (1988) - 5/5 - Twin gynecologists head into a downward spiral when a woman comes between them. One of Cronenberg's best with a great performance from Jeremy Irons.

Kill List - 4.5/5 - Two former soldiers are hired to assassinate three people. As they take out each target things start getting strange. Interesting mashup of different genres.

Crash (1996) - 5/5 - A TV producer becomes involved with an underground cult who have a sexual obsession with car crashes. Another excellent Cronenberg film.

That was borderline unwatchable except for a few scenes. I think they did that movie just to hang out and smoke.

Re: Last Movie You Watched Thread

Fast & Furious Presents Hobbs & Shaw (2019) — I generally really enjoy the Fast and Furious movies and was looking forward to this spin-off, especially being directed by David Leitch, but nothing in this stood out action/stunts-wise and the chemistry between Johnson/Statham/Kirby was lackluster, including the quasi-budding romance with Johnson and Kirby. A lot of this film felt forced and going in the science fiction realm just felt wrong. Sure, it's got the dumb elements F&F is known for, but very little of this was fun. 2.75/5

It was not that bad.

Virginia Masden and Suraj Sharma the guy from Life of Pie and God Friended Me were also in it.

Last night I went to a Halloween event event at the Walker Art Center for a showing of Jim Jarmusch's "Only Lovers Left Alive."

The Brood - 4.5/5

David Cronenberg's twisted interpretation of a marriage gone sour and the effects it has on those involved and their loved ones. A horror classic that established its director as a force to be reckoned with.

It was awful

This is what Netflix sends me instead of all the new releases that came out this Fall.

Arrgh I know it is a mashup btw Alien and Gravity but the characters were sooooo annoying with their stoopid decisions and lack of professionals (think of the yahoos in the Prometheus cave going here little snake...) AND some plot lines that seem too contrived. Pass.

Stuber (2019) — Fun buddy flick that did make me chuckle a few times but on the other hand nothing special. However it's light-hearted and makes for a breezy film to sit through thanks to both Nanjiani and Baudista. 3.25/5

It was not horrible though maybe if they got somebody else besides Sophie Turner to play Jean Grey it might have worked.

Is there a comedy released in the last 21 years than can equal or come close to this classic?

In the Blood - This was a Gina Carano vehicle from a few years ago, so I set my expectations pretty low. It's pretty bad. The story is ludicrous and Carano's acting is not very good. The pros: The fight scenes are okay (which is the main reason anyone would watch this, I presume) and I find Carano nice to look at (though I'm sure opinions vary on that).
